On February 13, 2017 I bought a 2010 Dodge Avenger R/T from St. Mary’s Auto LLC on US 19 in Holiday, 12 hours after buying it, on January 14the transmission goes into limp mode, there is a problem with the transmission. After first telling me to take it to a repair shop they then changed their story that it was a brand new transmission but eventually would send it to a transmission repair guy and it’ll be back in a couple of days.
One full month later, after being told it would be back the end of the week for the past month, I finally got it back. During that month I had told them over and over to look at replacing the Transmission Control Module, no one ever did. In the end it was the transmission control module. Over those 4 weeks they gave me loaner cars. One had two very noticeable different size tires, and was stalling out, the next rattled so hard parts actually fell off of it, one of the loaners, the interior was coming apart at the seams.
I got the car back on March 12, 2017 one month later. I was promised that the car now had a bumper to bumper 3rd party warranty as well as a 6-month warranty from the transmission repair place. It should also be noted that when picking up the car, the transmission shop gave me the old computer, which showed the car had 210,000 miles on it, even though the odometer shows 107,00
Today is June 21, 2017. On June 13th the brake light stopped working completely. I brought my car there to have it repaired under warranty and they claim the warranty doesn’t cover it. It sat in their parking lot for a week before anything was done to it. I went to their shop and installed a new TPIM in hopes this would fix the issue, it didn’t.
They told me to take the car to one of their shops and that the guy was an “Expert” at electrical. I got a call that he can’t find the wire for the hazard lights. I went down there and tore the rest of the dash apart to make it easier on him since he’s the mechanic and I’m not. Today I called and this mechanic says “I can’t find it, don’t know what to tell you”
I’ve had enough of this back and forth. The only redeeming quality of this place is the body guy. Most of the cars I looked at had electrical issues, engine issues like smoke coming off the block or they have been in major accidents and parted and pieced together to form a car.
If you go to St May’s auto on 1709 US-19, Holiday, FL 34691 or their other location at 1302 US-19, Holiday, FL 34691 expect to be ripped off. After all the time I have had to spent there I have witnessed 5 people come in screaming about being ripped off, triple that trying to get parts for cars they bought from this place. STAY AWAY! Spend your money at any one of the many car lots in the area that has at least the common sense to not put cars on the lot with bad transmissions.
