I have had my SSL Cert through SSL Guru for a number of years and it has been fine. Recently, my website host started automatically including my SSL Cert, so I let SSL Guru know that I was not renewing.
Imagine my surprise when almost two months before my renewal date, they charged my credit card the full amount of a renewal! Okay, perhaps an honest mistake. So, I called and spoke with their customer service who said that they would issue back a refund for my money.
Then, they sent me an email requiring me to fill out a bunch of information. I did so. Now, they have sent me an email stating that my refund TO MY SSL GURU ACCOUNT has been approved. In order to actually get my money back, they have now sent me a form to print and mail into them.
I think we all know how that is going to go . . .never received it, lost in the mail, prove it, etc.
Meanwhile, I seem to have no choice but to print and mail their stupid form to them and, hopefully, see my money again.
This is a scam operation, seemingly desperate for my money . . . and likely, yours.
We realized two years late that this company had charged our American Express card for $246 and provided nothing in return. When we found out we saw that they charged our card in August for a program that was billed to start Dec 31 2020. Immediately we went in to the portal and disupted all the charges an the most recent in particular for $69 for an SSL that we NEVER authorized.
We requested to cancel the item in Sept 3 2020
We went through 5 calls to amex and then received the refund. Then the company said we had send in a written request last mionth. which we did that day.
Then, SSL GURU used that written request showing it was more than 30 days after the charge and was no linger allowed a refund and then they reversed the refund and recharged our account.
This is straight up fraud. It states on the refund policy that refunds are accepted using the portal and that is what we initially did.
