- Squires was selected to install our new roof in 2012 because they had an A+ BBB rating, great reviews, told us they didn't use subcontractors (that was not true), and were in business for about 70 years. And they had a 20 year labor warranty. We learned the hard way that none of this matters.
- roof leaking immediately after installation. Squires came out several times to repair
- 2014, roof leaked really bad...Squires blamed it on ice (put it was spring time, no ice)....damage to ceilings. Squires fixed it by removing some vinyl siding, nailing it back on, tarring it, caulking roof shingles, installing a few inches of ice guard (they didn't remove or touch the cedar siding (nails still painted) so the ice guard isn't behind siding)....issued a BBB complaint....eventually Squires came through but it was painful
roof leaking in the same place like a "slow faucet". extensive damage to ceilings. Independent roofers as well as a manger from Squires new "partner" (per the three different websites) said all siding must be removed, ice guard installed, new flashing installed (with 90 degree bends instead of the large radii), three exhausts must be sealed propertly (loose), and shingles where caulked must be properly installed .....AND SQUIRES ROOFING SAID THEY "CLOSED THEIR DOORS" AND VOIDED ALL LABOR WARRANTIES!!!
For a few days, Squires owners agreed to fix the roof, but the "general contractor" had only a year experience, would not provide us with a scope of work, nothing on BBB or anywhere else regarding his company, and , although he offered a year warranty, we were concerned that he might not be arround in a year. We asked Squires to get their new partner to fix, Squires said "no", asked if they would cover the cost of the lowest bidder (got two independent roofers out to quote), Squires said no.....Squires told us to call their lawyer.
SO do not use SQUIRES....or the people who owned this company. They cheat. Now we will take them to court.
