On March 23, 2017, Squaw was advertising "Free Spring Skiing" with pruchase of 2017-2018 season pass. I went to the ski resort and was told that the offer was not valid until April. First day of spring this year was March 20. Actually that is also when I first say the offer advertised (intentionally misleading?).
The guy at the sales counter said that he was so tired of having to tell people over and over that the offer was not available. (Thin male - scraggly hair - s****.>
Then his supervisor came. She refused to honor the offer. She pointed out that if I looked at the small print of the offer online, and then within the small print opened a pop-up window, I would see that the offer was only for skiing after April 1, 2017. To which I told her it was deceptive to say in big letters one thing and then in a pop-up window linked to the fine print something else.
I bought a day pass and at the time of purchase was told that I could apply the day pass purchase price to the season pass price. Then the season pass deal that they advertised was not available - and so I would not be able to apply the day pass price. I threatened to sue and the supervisor said that I could, if I really had the time to bring a case for that amount of money.
In think a fair resolution of this would be to offer all people who purchased a day pass between when they advertised the deal and when it was available the option of applying the day pass amount to the season pass price.
