Spruce Solar Co. is non-responsive. Long hold times on phone then disconnected. No callbacks when I do leave my ph.#. Emailed info and then no response. When I finally do get through they said somebody will contact me in 10-12 business days (to check why our solar panels have not been working for a year! Electric bills are over $500 per month!!!!) Nobody calls or emails me. I have made numerous attempts to get somebody scheduled to fix the problem. Once I finally did get through after waiting on the phone all day and going round and round (dropped calls, long holds, etc) a young snarky agent told me this could not be escalated to speak to a supervisor. Contacting support online - email came back "undeliverable". Just want our solar power restored and compensated for the lost energy. CONSUMERS BEWARE!
I signed a contract with NRG in 2015 to install solar panels on my home. The contract was for 20 years with a "buy out" option on the 7th anniversary (1 Sep 2022) for $12, 007.86 or, a one-time prepayment of $9987.29 based on a 4.5% interest rate, plus taxes.
In about 2020, my contract was sold to Spruce Power. Spruce Power now tells me my Prepayment/Buy Out price will include "Incentive costs" and "Residual Equipment Value." THese costs amount to almost $4000.00 in addition to the base amount.
These items are not cited in the original NRG contract and were not part of anything I ever agreed to.
I am so glad that I'm not the only one with troubles with this company. My contract was bought by them as I was with Greenday Financial, initially. I purchase the electricity generated by their panels. Not a lease or a buy I just purchase the electricity generated. The panels stopped generating electricity back in June of 2021.
They finally sent someone at the end of October 2021 but kept charging me for electricity that they were not generating. The person was unable to fix the issue and the system as of today June 2022 still does not work. They have called me several times to collect and the only way I hear from them is not to pay them.
They now threatened to turn off my electricity and charge me a $335 to reconnect. My question is reconnect what, the system is broken. They have admitted that they show me offline and I have been offline so long that they can't go back far enough.
Their billing system is extremely screwed up and they have no urgency except to try to collect false charges. I am so tired of these knuckleheads that I'm telling my neighbors if approached to tell them to pound sand. I'm hoping filing complaints on all the sites I can will finally do accomplish something.
They are dishonest. When you make a payment they do not credit your account. Then they Continue to send bills claiming you owe more than you do. We repeatedly send proof from our bank to their billing department via email and multiple times left phone messages.
We receive nothing in return but higher bills the following month with even more late fees. Not a single statement provides a break down of what the charges are. Last Oct we received 2 bills for different This company is a complete scam and fraudulent. They need to be stopped immediately. I have never experienced such a dishonest company. I have also reported the to the BBB.
