Hello my name is Gerald Broughton, I also go by rap name Fayrothedon. I have a complaint about the dishonest company Spotify stealing artist royalties and refusing to pay them for streams. Also, Spotify is stealing listeners from independent artist and refusing to pay what they owe us in streams. This is what went down this month in January 2024. I had 1,723 listeners that streamed my music on spotify 3,366 times last year December, 2023. The song that got streamed was called What We Doing by Fayrothedon, produced by Loc Dizzle.
The song did pretty good gaining 3,366 streams last year in December 2023. Spotify notified me, and told me congratulations on the good work, and I had earned royalties from the song. I was happy to hear the good news, that I had royalties from my song What we doing in my amuse account from spotify. Well, for some unknown reason, Spotify stole and took away 1,338 listners this month in January 2024 and then took another 200 more listeners today January 28, 2024, and now they refuse to explain why they are stealing my money from my song What We Doing. Keep in mind, the only way the song could have been streamed 3,366 times, 1,723 fans that liked the song had to acutally stream the song for me to get paid. Why is spotify being dishonest and refusing to pay me for using my music on their platform? This is criminal and illegal for them to do this acitivity.
I contacted Paul that works for Spotify January, 27, 2024, and he lied to me, and told me that I would be refunded my listeners by the next day, and he has taking care of it. That was a lie Paul told, instead Spotify took 200 more listeners away leaving me with 175. This is not right, why are they doing this to independent artist? Stealing their music? Seems like I have been scammed. I suggest new artist not to upload your music, these people are crooks and they will do the same thing to you that they did to me. Spotify needs to be shutdown for good.
They continue to charge credit card even after several months of reporting dispute to credit card, claiming an unused service is being used. to stop the continuing charges took action to cancel and delete that credit card.... waiting to see if this will stop them....
Recently Spotify had an offer running on their website through which they were giving google home mini devices for $1. Since, I was already looking for a good music app, I subscribed to it and claimed my offer. After around 20 days, I got to know that my device was sent back to google since it couldn't be delivered by USPS. I contacted USPS, google and finally spotify and they told me they are going to send me another link to place the order. They sent the link, initially I couldn't place the order and finally when I did, they charged me full price for the device. I contacted spotify for the refund. I honestly was so annoyed by that time that I didn't even want the device anymore. I wanted my money back since it was supposed to be an offer. Its been almost 15 days now and spotify has been telling me that someone from google will contact me soon. I have emailed them at least 5 times to get my money back and I have been getting the same response everytime. Its a shame that such a reputed company has the most horrible customer service I have ever seen and that they are ripping off their customers in the name of "offers". If you ever have to contact spotify customer service - don't! Just swtich to another app and trust me you'll be happier. I still can't believe they charged me for that device and are still not returning the money.
Multiple charges on my account for various amounts over a 2 week period AFTER I was SHEERID verified as a student I was charged for premium account when charge should be 4.99. Had over 3 payments taken from my account at the same time. YET I GET BLASTED BY ADS and damaged my eardrums ?!
