I am writing to lodge a complaint against Splash Pad USA located out of Salt Lake City Utah. We spoke with Mr. Don Edwards from Splash Pad USA, Inc to get a quote on a project we wanted contract with him for a splash pad at our new business location. The quote for the work was $35,000 dollars. The terms of the agreement stated that we were to wire a check to their bank as a deposit with the amount equaling 20% of the total project. This would cover a drawing of the splash pad and the manufacturing of the splash pad components per the agreement. On March 25th of 2016, the same day we received the invoice, we had a check wired to their bank in the amount of $7,000 to begin the work. Our bank showed that the check had been cleared.
As of June 21st, 2016, we had received a one-page document that was supposed to represent a design, which failed to include enough detail to proceed. Despite numerous attempts to contact Mr. Edwards, we were unable to get a response from him nor from his representatives to advance the project. Our contractor, Dublin Building Systems attempted to reach Splash Pad USA, Inc. through written correspondence requesting a refund of our $7,000 deposit due to “very poor service and lack of communication and an inability to obtain satisfactory design documents”. This was followed up with a certified letter sent on September 27th. To date, there has been no response. We have since hired another company for the project.
This was an unfortunate and costly experience. The fact that he has kept our money without delivering the agreed upon services is fraudulent. I have attached the drawing which cost us $7,000 as it is the only thing we received for our money. I think you will agree, this drawing is laughable and useless.
I have written this in hopes that others take heed and not allow themselves to be scammed by this unscrupulous company.
