In November of 2017, I took my 2006 Nissan 350z to Spencer's Auto Repair to have some work done. After having to wait a while for Spencer to get started on my vehicle, also allowing unlicensed people to work on my vehicle. I feel cheated, ripped off, and did not receive the quality service that I paid for. After waiting for 6-7 months for him to actually work on and finish my vehicle, I finally received the call that my vehicle was finished on April 20th, 2018. Having a repair bill of $2123.00, and having to wait those 6-7 months to get my vehicle completed, I wasn't expecting to have any problems. While on my drive home, I began noticing that there were some things still wrong with my vehicle. My check engine light came on after a couple miles, the engine started smoking at highway speeds, and I can hear something tapping inside the motor, there is a power steering fluid leak coming from a pressure line or the pump itself and is spraying all over the underside of my vehicle. There is a scrapping sound coming from both front wheels. My plastic engine cover was stolen, along with some of the smaller under car splash shields. The few splash guard pieces I did manage to get back with the vehicle, those being the larger plastic splash guards that go under the car, were tossed in the trunk, which got the interior dirty. I had the Diagnostic Trouble Codes read at my local O'Reilly's Auto Parts store to tell me why the check engine light was on. The first 2 codes are for camshaft position, and the other 2 codes are for Oxygen sensors. The scraping sounds from the front tires are due to the passenger side brake dust shield being bent causing damage to the brake rotor, and on the driver's side, the brake line bracket was not bolted down correctly and could have been snagged in the brake caliper, which could have caused me to crash, injuring or even killing myself or other driver's on the road. The engine smoking at highway speeds, also fills the cabin full of smoke, and will need to be evaluated. The fluid leak is coming from the power steering pump, pressure lines, or possibly the reservoir. The front brake rotors are too damaged, and will have to be replaced. To replace the missing small splash shield's and O.E.M. engine cover, I will have to special order them from the dealership. The rest of the plastic splash guards, I will have to special order the plastic push tabs, and screws from the dealership, and the interior will need to be cleaned and detailed. I would also like to know why Spencer allowed my vehicle to leave his shop in such a extremely dangerous condition. Would like to know why the engine cover and plastic pieces went missing. Why he though t it was ok to toss the remaining dirty splash guards in the trunk getting the interior getting dirty. Having learned a very valuable lesson... I plan to only take my vehicle to the Nissan dealership to be repaired, and feel Spencer's Auto Repair should cover the cost, for the financial and emotional stress that my wife and I have gone through. Also for not giving me the service I paid for, allowing my vehicle to leave his shop in such an extremely dangerous, unsafe, and non-drivable condition, Also for the way he showed no concern, remorse, respect, care, or sympathy for the condition in which the vehicle was returned. After he got the payment, I was pretty much left to resolve any issues myself.
