Speedticketbeaters.com Reviews
I paid for and used the service provided by Speedticketbeaters.com, and here are the facts on the service provided by the site owners as I feel my experience should be shared with others...
THE GOOD
Not A Scam
I wouldn't say the service is a scam like some of the other complaints against the company. A scam is buying something, but then not getting it. They are most definitely a real company that offers a real service and they do in fact provide the service they advertise. That said, there are a few skewed truths, like the money back guarantee, bur more on these later.Well established boundaries
Speedticketbeaters.com does well with setting and maintaining boundaries with what they do, and do not provide for a service. I felt they drew the lines in the sand distinctly, and I knew where I stood with them.Defense Good, But Not Great
The defense they provide is entertaining to say the least, and in theory, iron clad. It was entertaining to say the least when obtaining my “personalized” defense. I say “personalized” because you can tell they have a boiler-plate defense that they delete and add based on the minimal info you provide on your case. The defense, in theory, is iron clad because on black and white, there is really no refuting the defense, but we are dealing with court full of people, not computers, who use common sense and use logical reasoning, which is why the defense is good, but not great.
Speedy Communication
They answered every question, and they were very prompt with email traffic.
THE BAD
Refund Terms
The “guarantee” was one of the main reasons I went with Speedticketbeaters.com, but they don’t stand behind these words and the terms are very difficult to meet, however I managed to meet every single term. For example, you cannot have used them before and had a successful case (all their testimonials would not allowed to get a refund for any future services), you have to pursue an appeal through the court (more court fees), you must record everything in the courtroom, outlining every word said by all parties involved, just to name a few. Despite following every letter of their prescribed defense and following every portion of the refund terms, they still wouldn’t refund my money. They tried to use the technicality that I didn’t use my entire defense, and therefore I didn’t “follow instructions” because the judge wouldn’t listen to the last portion of my defense (she kept interrupting me) and then she ignored me altogether and moved onto the prosecution for the next order of business. The court would not under any circumstance give me a judge in lieu of a magistrate, and Speedticketbeaters.com claimed their terms require that I stand in court before a judge. Despite these two things obviously being outside my control and despite that their recommendations failed at manipulating the court in the way their refund terms require, no refund was issued.
The reason this didn’t get put in the ugly category below was because they agreed to meet me in the middle and offered me the option to refund half my money and be banned from the site for life, or take three years of free service appended to my original one-year term of service at no charge. At the end of the day it wasn’t a full refund like they advertise on their website….
Prescribed Defense Full of Spaghetti Thoughts
I had much difficulty following the defense and their prescription of what to say and when. They provide you with this huge email of jumbled thoughts and ideas and you have to spend a ton of time deciphering it. I ended up figuring it out chronologically and rewrote the whole thing so I could reference it easily come court day. I am a pretty smart person who has professional engineering licensure and holds two bachelor’s of science degrees and I read government contracts for a living, and even I had a very tough time compiling all of the notes and associated responses.
THE UGLY
Their Defense Requires Lying
I have a real problem with deception in general, but most specifically….lying and their defense requires just that. The first step in their defense system is to get the court date changed to a different day of the week. They recommended citing a religious conflict (a lie) stating I cannot meet on that particular day of the week (my county does it on Fridays). They said to cite “whatever is needed” to obtain a different day of the week, but they recommended a religious conflict as those are the most successful, I guess. The court would not budge on Fridays as the court day. Speedticketbeaters.com also claimed that the court “is required” to get the defense’s permission to be seen before a magistrate, and not a judge. This certainly wasn’t the case for my county, and to make matters worse, they did not provide any guidance on how to force the court’s hand on this issue. I was forced to face the person I obviously lied to about having a Friday religious obligation, and I had to face the person I distinctly requested to be removed from the case in place of a real judge, so you could imagine how well my defense went. The magistrate clearly had a chip on her shoulder walking into the courtroom because of these requests (which she later confirmed).
At the end of the day, their defense didn’t work for me and I didn’t get my money back. I do not regret this experience in that courtroom and I felt more confident going in with the documents in hand, but I simply cannot recommend Speedticketbeaters.com. Let’s face it, their defense is essentially trying to take advantage of an obvious technicality loophole in the system, and from my experience, judges (and magistrates) and smart people alike won’t buy it and can smell B.S. a mile away. It is interesting because the magistrate said exactly what Speedticketbeaters.com said she would, but their prescribed responses got me nothing but a turned cheek. This is because I learned that a big part of winning (or losing) the case revolves around the judge’s perception of you as a person and due to the recommendation to use obvious deception to move the court date and because of the recommendation of essentially insulting the title and purpose of the magistrate (which is an appointed position), the court case was lost before it even started..
**SCAM** HE CUSSED ME OUT AND THREATENED ME WITH LEGAL ACTION.
If I could post “0 stars” I would! He started by calling my phone multiple times a day, which lead me to believe it was a scam, so I did not answer. Finally, I got tired of the calls, and answered. It sounded like a recorded message so I asked “is this a recorded message” to which he replied “obviously this is a real person, that’s why I keep calling”. I then replied saying “a professional company would call once, leave a message, and wait for my reply” he then cursed at me and said “now you’re going to f***ing lose” and I hung up.
I sent him an email letting him know I was not falling for his scam. The reason I call it a scam is very simple. The very first email I got, without him gathering any information regarding my ticket, had a link that stated “Beat every penny of your ticket for just $279” and the link takes you directly to PayPal. I let him know what he is doing is wrong, he is taking peoples money and claiming to provide services he knows he cannot uphold. Which is why when you try calling the number back, it doesn’t ring, you can only leave a message. That way when you realize you just got screwed out of $279...you can’t get ahold of them.
He then tried to bully and threaten me with legal action via email saying if I posted any negative reviews about him, it would be slander, and said I should “tread lightly”. I guess not only is he a scam artist, but he’s also an idiot and doesn’t know what slander means.
He then continued to email me and threaten me just like he seems to have done to every other person who posted a negative review. Making statements like “WE HAVE NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ABLE TO BEAT A TICKET WITHOUT COLLECTING ANY INFORMATION.”..actually that is exactly what you did. And then goes on to say “HAD YOU ACTUALLY COMPLETED THAT PHONE CALL, YOU WOULD HAVE HEARD YOUR WHOLE SPEEDING DEFENSE LAID OUT FOR YOU, AND YOU WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD HOW YOU'RE GOING TO BEAT YOUR TICKET. INSTEAD, YOU'RE NOW GOING TO LOSE.”...how do you have a defense for me when we haven’t even discussed the terms of my ticket? Now the threat... “IF YOU POST A NEGATIVE REVIEW OF THIS COMPANY, WITHOUT HAVING ACTUALLY USED OUR SERVICES, YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO MALICIOUSLY INTERFERE WITH OUR BUSINESS, WHICH IS LEGALLY ACTIONABLE. TREAD VERY CAREFULLY.“ I guess he doesn’t realize it is perfectly legal for me to post my negative review of him cursing me out and threatening me..or he thinks I’m an idiot. He then tells me to “cease and desist” but then ends up sending me ANOTHER email. Telling me I have had “no experiences with the company”...but I guess he forgot cussing me out when I answered his phone call. I’d definitely call that an experience.
Lastly he says “IF YOU ATTEMPT TO SMEAR THIS COMPANY PUBLICLY, IT WILL BE LEGALLY ACTIONABLE. YOU ARE NOW BEING BLOCKED.”
Again, it is perfectly legal for someone to post their terrible experience of you cussing them out. Your scare tactics may work with other people, but seeing as other people have had the same experience with you, I figured I should make sure and let people know I have also had the same experience.
DO NOT be fooled by this lame attempt of a scam. If you feel you really did receive your ticket wrongfully, hire a lawyer. This gentleman (and I say gentleman lightly) clearly dropped out of law school and has a chip on his shoulder. He clearly does not understand law in general. If you send him your money, I’m afraid you are just as much of an idiot as he is.
I was promised a full refund. I did what they requested and they never refunded my money. I was called names, threaten and lied too. The use scare and intimidation tactics liberally and zealously. What a horrible experience. Speedticketbeaters.com had horrendous reviews on google and yelp but somehow managed to have their entire company removed from these sites, eliminating the terrible reviews.
Here are only a few of the emails i received from this company. This is what you will be dealing with if you use them. Do your homework, check out the bbb and other feedback and complaint sites. I'm 100% sure that any positive feedback was left by the company itself. I had left a truthful and honest review about my dealings with this company and they went berserk.
Don't make my mistake, their service is a con and the owner is a tyrant. You not only received a copy of the refund terms, you received several copies. Now you have set out to maliciously damage our company in the public domain, and a refund will not be completed until you have undone that damage in its entirety.
The next email you receive will be the terms of the refund you are seeking. Reply confirming that you have completed the requested steps, and we will be able to procure a refund. If you fail to reply As you have up to this point in time), we will be unable to refund you as requested speedticketbeaters refund agreement in order to receive the refund you have requested, please answers the following questions and complete the required steps:
1 - what was the date of your sign up for our services, and was the purchase made on the phone, or on paypal?
2 - what is your name and mailing address?
3 - do you understand that once we have initiated your refund, you are banned for life from using our services, making any additional refund claims against the fee you paid us Meaning you are banned from filing any charge back/dispute), posting reviews about us online, or initiating any complaints about us to any entity Including the better business bureau)? Answer yes, or there will be no refund initiated)
4 - do you understand that if you violate any of the terms listed in item number 3 above, including by re-posting the reviews you remove from the internet Whether they are new or the original content)... We will file a civil action against you in court, and you will be liable for damages? Answer yes, or there will be no refund initiated)
5 - you must remove from the internet all reviews and complaints you have authored about this company, before any refund will be processed. This includes content you have authored on the bbb, scamion, trustpilot, and resellerratings, as well as any others not mentioned.
You must completely delete every word of every complaint you have written in all locations. You must also notify each of outlets you posted in that you have resolved your issue, and do not want the negative rating your review caused our company, to remain in place as part of our companies scoring in their systems.
You must send us a copy of the emails you send the outlets showing that you have requested the negative score removals. Until you have completed 1-5 above, we cannot process the refund you are requesting. Be advised that prior to your having posted the "reviews" you began posting, step 5 was not a requirement in these terms. So had you simply taken the phone call from our company ceo when he attempted to reach you, and/or replied to our emails in a rational manner... You would only have been required to complete steps 1-4.
It is the fact that you have now set out to publicly damage this company, that has caused us to add step 5 to the process. Speedticketbeaters/legal we will not be refunding you at all, unless you comply with the refund terms laid out in the email you just responded to. A company as old as ours Since 2003), has seen every type of person, attempt to shake us down for various things, including refunds that they were not actually eligible for.
There is no way that we are allowing you to disparage us in the public domain as you have done, and then refunding you. You behave like a terrorist. We do not give in to such demands. You are to remove all of the content we have outlined for removal, and you are to agree in writing that you continuing to post/re-post such content will make you available to legal action.
If you do not agree to do so, we cannot possibly refund, with things as you have left them now. Remove the content if you want a refund. Speedticketbeaters there's a distinct possibility you are mentally ill. The date of the email we screenshot'd and sent you is the same date you originally signed up.
If you commence with the actions you have been taking, you are going to be sued. Speedticketbeaters
