I contacted Speed Ticket Beaters about a speedcam ticket I received from Nassau County, NY, in September of 2014. The person told me that a speedcam ticket CAN raise one's insurance premiums. I asked how this is possible, being the driver's identity is unknown. The person told me that the insurance companies merely charge the owner of the vehicle higher premiums--he said that if I pay the ticket, they WILL raise my insurance premiums. The person was very pushy for me to sign up for his services. I caved in under the pressure, and signed up, for about $200. It happened that my insurance had gone up, but only by a marginal amount. When I asked the insurance company what the reason for the increase was, they told me that it was just a general increase to cover expenses.
In the interim between my signing up for the speed ticket beaters and my going to court to fight the ticket "using the technique I learned from speed ticket beaters", which was to dispute the ticket "on the basis that my Constitutional rights to question my accuser were violated." The judge merely overruled my objection, and asked me if I had any other objections. When I questioned why they believed Constituional rights were not violated, the judge told me that the ticket will not show up on my license, and so there is no need to confront my accuser. I LOST at my court hearing, and ended up having to pay the $80 for the speedcam ticket. When I went back to speed ticket beaters, to request a refund on the basis of having lost my case when I applied the technique as I should have. I was met with an email reply asking me whether I properly went through the appeals process, etc, etc.
In addition to all of this, the literature I received from speed ticket beaters contained a paragraph where it literally threatened anyone who would speak out against speed ticket beaters by saying anything negative about it with a libel suit, because negative remarks about the company are "not considered free speech".
