We contacted Daniel Christiansen to make repairs to our home located at located in Middleburg FL , he did a walkthrough inspection on our home in early October on a Friday he said he would start work on the following Monday, he actually never started to work till Tuesday we were given an estimate of approximately $9000, Upon a walk in inspection we were told it all walls would be thin set and sanded before the entire house and bathrooms repaired and painted, immediately there was discrepancies in the order of work, they installed the brand new kitchen cabinets without repairing the ceiling above them without prepping or painting the walls around them and this was one of our first questions, the bathrooms were never repaired in 8 weeks, the walls were never properly prepped or painted, till after paint was installed an we complained, the work was drawn out for several weeks, and after many complaints I was told by Mr. Kristiansen that I should stay out of the home and let him do its job, which I did till the 1st of December.
This home is owned by my wife Sheila she was told by Mr. Christiansen that all repairs would be made and completed no later than the end of November. On November 285th I drove over to the home to let the contractor know that the countertops would be delivered on Thursday the subcontractor was not present at the property I came back several times during the day and he was not there, I came back on Thursday the following day he was not there, I called Mr. Christiansen and asked him where the contractor was, and he stated to me that he was on another repair site doing repair their because there it was raining on Monday.
I came home and told my white sheet was disappointed. By now our estimate has increased from 9000 to over $11,000 and we had paid him $4000 up front. My wife sent Mr. Christenson a professional e-mail (see enclosure) expressing her concerns and, the following day my wife received a text for Mr. Christianson telling her, and this is his exact quote, take your bipolar medication and call me tomorrow. My wife is recovering surgery. He left the property on Friday November 30th, when we arrived the water in the back yard was running wide open the back yard was flooded, the subcontractors left garbage throughout the house and personal clothing, we have trash throughout the house we paid over $500 to have some bookcases painted he installed rusty moldy hinges back on these freshly painted cabinets and install them in our home, he failed to install molding that we had paid to have installed above the fire place in above the kitchen cabinets and in the kitchen we have paint on brand new door hinges throughout the house is going to cause is hundreds of dollars to have this repaired before we can even sell the home, he now has threatened us with a Lien against our home if we do not pay him an additional $5800 for a total of over $9800, refusing to reduce the cost for his errors.
At this point we have to move on and sell this house it has cost is over $40,000 so far in material and labor, this man has been totally unprofessional. He states whose business is spectrum renovations if you do an Internet search this is listed in San Diego California I called that organization they do not know him. He actually has a license under ANS handyman service in Jacksonville Florida. I’m respectfully asking that you look into this matter.

Again we are worn out with this lack of organization and the poor communication, When you did a walk through you told us the walls would need skimmed and prepped it was never done first, because of poor communication by you to your employees John and his Cousin, so work was done backwards, the cabinets were installed without repair to the ceiling above them, paint is on my new cabinets, The painter never finished my book cases, he SPRAY painted one in the living room, there is blue over spay on my new ceiling, and molding on the floor, the book case it’s now pushed into one corner the rest are in the garage not sanded or painted. Both bath rooms have never been repaired. There is NO organization to any of this work, with an estimate of over eleven thousand dollars, so at this point. I want a completion date a revised estimate.
Tomorrow, I want a crew in my home every day starting tomorrow. Until finished. Or I will seek legal advice and no further payments. Unless I hear from you directly by tomorrow. NOT BY TEXT I want no further work done by your company, except install the back door that I will replace that was ordered wrong, the rest of the crown molding, do not make any further repairs. I will have to contract someone else. This is a total disappointment, we hired you in good faith, and I am not wealthy. Do not install the flooring. I expect the book cases to be painted and installed since one is partially done, the house needs cleaned from the work you have done. I expect you to inspect what work has been done and make all repairs and corrections as needed. I am totally disappointed in your service and lack of organization and communication or lack of with myself as well as your employees, YOUR mail box is full I tried calling.
