Southern California Edison Reviews

  • Jan 31, 2021

Southern California Edison has been responsable for many fires, electrical outages and fraud. No one cares or will do anything about it. They get away with so much theft and corruption. This rotten company has been so deep in lying to customers, cheating customers, stealing payments and now I have noticed they are charging interest on my bill.

This last year I moved from LaMirada to Rowland Hts. I tried shutting off the account, but had nothing but problems with customer service and it got transferred, I no longer wanted this account in my name. Last year someone stole a $60 payment I sent to them. They claim they never recieved it, but I proved I paid it. These people are thieves and liars, they refused to credit my account. So I refused to pay that extra $60 dollars, but now they took it from the deposit. So twice they stole from me.

This statement shows a small refund from a $150 dollar deposit that was orignally given.

I use to work at the Rosemead headquarters, this place is highly abusive, major lawsuits and seriously emotional, mental and physical abuse from employees.

Now after speaking to them I told them I moved out of my recent unit and they needed to return the deposit, they lied to me and said the last bill I had was a closing bill.

It was NOT it never said final bill on it. Where I live now, they somehow figured it out because I never told them, but a bill was sent to my new unit and it appears like I was charged interest on this bill. It shows how they took another $60.00 from what they stole the first time. These people are the biggest theives, and so are the investors who own this complex.

As tenants we are forced to give our electric account to management, so I beleive they are in ca-hoots with Edison. Where I live is a rip off with over priced studios and having to be charged for all utitlies when they're is no way to measure what actually is being used and how much of?

Why are "we the people" paying for electricity when the SUN is a natural resource?

SCE CALLED FROM 800 473-9689. I SPOKE TO ALEX AND MANAGER MIKE. THEY SAID OUR ACCOUNT WAS RED FLAGGED FOR SHUT OFF TODAY.

AFTER A RUN AROUND THEY SAID THEY WOULD OPEN A CASE TO FIND OUT WHERE OUR "CASHED CHECKS" WERE BEING POSTED TO - BUT IN THE MEAN TIME WE WOULD NEED TO PAY A MIN DUE TO STOP THE SHUT OFF PROCESS (THIS WAS MY RED FLAG!).

I CALLED SCE PHONE NUMBER ON MY STATEMENT AND VERIFIED WE HAVE A ZERO BALANCE DUE.

On November 30th I was hit with $61,000 "Request for deposit to establish credit"

What is your understanding of establishing a credit. Usually the utility company pulls credit when a property is purchased to determine the deposit.

I am an owner of 5 office buildings in Irvine, Rancho Palos Verdes and Torrance.

These buildings were purchased back 2 to 5 years ago! We have been paying our bills from $10,000 + per month per building. We have always paid our bills except a few extensions that we asked S C E.

All of the sudden I get this $60,000 invoice that if I don't pay it in 10 days, they will shut the electricity for 175 businesses!!!

Mind you again, we are fully paid.

I contacted their offices "Mr. Paul Garcia" and he said he is the one that made the decision. I told him, go ahead and shut everything up, I dare you !!!!

This is an extortion.

I have sent to the mayors of those cities and public utility commission multiple emails.

If you get hit with high security deposit from S C E, don't just pay it...fight it

I received a phone call from this number 844-388-3482 with a womans voice stating that she was a representative from Southern California Edison disconnection department and that a payment had to be made today to avoid shut-off of me electric service. Then she proceeded to give me that number to call, which I did and it sound exactly like the automated Edison choose options.

After I waited a few seconds another so call rep. answered and asked me for my account number and put me on hold for another few seconds, He told me that my electric bill was due and that a cash payment had to be made today for XXX amount to avoid disconnection and additional charges. At that point he proceeded to tell me that it had to be in cash in a form of a pre-loaded card sold in a well know market.

To my good luck I had just made my electric bill payment at an authorized utility pay location of which I went back and explained to them what just happened, fortunately they told me that it seemed like it was a scam and to call a different number for Edison. After I made the call to EDison and confirmed that my payment was received I also informed them about what had happened. They took notes and they already know whats going on out there.

So be carefull if you see this phone number pop up in your caller ID or cell phone and don't fall for it. This scamers are investing a lot of money to sound like the real Edison, they are not.

Received a call from this number saying they were SCE and I owe 400.98. They said just pay the 400, they wanted a credit card over the phone. When I refused they said I can pay at cvs but to call in the parking lot before I go inside. My electric bill is never over 40$ a month, that would mean I am behind 10 months! But the person said I was behind only 2 months. So I call SCE and my account is current and my last bill was 19$. This is an elaborate scheme! Toll free number, extensions, numbered options with an SCE recording. Don't be fooled!

(Southern California Edison) Call Scam

These guys are good. They called my medical clinic & stated that they were going to shut down our power in 45 min. as a Southern California Edison Technician was coming to disconnect. I called the ***-***-**** # to handle the outstanding bill. I was updated that I was 2 months late & they sent notifications indicating that we had an outstanding bill. As I enrolled for paperless billing they stated that they will by default email the notificiations of default payments. In addition I indicated that I was on auto pay & Tom the representitive stated that if I made any changes to my acct. that my autopay wouldn't be active unless I updated my acct. at that time. Coincidentally I did have a visa that I cancelled and replaced about 2 months earlier & led me to believe that I may have forgotten to update my SCE account. Every issue I brought up with Tom he had a perfect answer to it, they are total pros and very scripted. Let's just say I was talked into going to the "SCE" payment terminal nearby which he gave me an address to a CVS Pharmacy. What it turns out they indicated for you to use the "Money Gram" & have $$ fwd. to them via a PIN # that they generate. Luckily I realized at that time it was a total scam once I got on the "Money Gram" line and had the operator clarify where was this $ exactly being sent to. They told me a company in the state of Ohio & immediately hung up the phone with the money gram operator and Tom from SCE. Right away I got 3 missed phone calls from this #: ***-***-****. These guys are sooo GOOD that they registrered this actual # which is a TRUE Southern California Edison phone number, but the # I called initially was ***-***-****.

Hope this help others not to get screwed with these guys.

Oh, they were asking for exactly $497.37:which I never paid: THANK GOD.

Signing off,

-I got very lucky-
