Jeff Croft was to do an inspection on our home as we were selling it. He did the inspection and on his way back to the office, took off for two weeks and left the country. He did not tell his office he was leaving, he did not drop off the paperwork so the office could complete the task. He told no one he was leaving, he just left the country. We are now on our thrid extension for selling this because no one knew where he was. We were to close on 11/30, but now it will be the middle of December before it is completed. His secretary did not know where he was. No one could reach his wife as she only had a cell phone, no land line. No way to get in touch with him.
The buyers lease ran out on 12/1 so they had the expense of looking for somewhere else to live until the house is sold. We are out the money we could have invested or paid other bills for the two weeks we were denied the funds. We have had to pay more in taxes for the house for the two extra weeks we have owned it.
Although the amounts may be small, the man left the country without telling anyone, without completing the task he was paid to do. Now someone else has to be paid to do it. Do we get a refund from him? It is the principal of the thing that he cares so little for other people that he would just up and leave people hanging without any thought.
