After speaking via telephone several times in November 2016 with the company's CEO, I decided to enroll in their Search Engine Optimization services. The CEO, Christopher Moulvi, spoke at length with me about how his company would increase website traffic to my business' website through digital marketing efforts. He explained to me that the company requires a down payment of $300 but that I would then not be charged further until search keywords, upon which we agreed, were actually ranked in Google. I advised him that my company is facing significant financial barriers because of low website traffic, and he kindly agreed to permit my company to pay the $300 down payment over the course of 3 monthly invoices. I paid the first one on 11/30/2016--the same date he sent it to me.
Prior to enrolling in the program he advised in an email communication that because these keywords are low competition keywords he expected that they should take approximately one week to rank in Google. After several weeks of not receiving any increase in website traffic I decided to contact him to inquire about other options. He very kindly offered to send out email marketing campaigns on my behalf without charge to his client base of over 300,000 customers in order to temporarily assist my company until his SEO efforts took shape.
Initially he advised that he would design the marketing campaigns and send them on my behalf. However, this was repeatedly delayed, as he explained that this company was too busy the week before Christmas, but would design and send them when his company completed business prior to Christmas. Later he indicated that he did not "have time" to design the campaigns and requested that I do so, but I repeatedly encountered difficulty in using the software. I explained this to him several times, and several times he either did not respond or responded only after several communication attempts. Later he indicated that he would make time to design them. He initially offered to send these email marketing campaigns on my behalf approximately one month ago; to date only just over 28,000 of the 300,000 he offered to send have actually been sent.
Increasingly frustrated with receiving no website traffic (and consequently no customers for the month of December), empty promises to send email campaigns for my company, and limited communication about my business' digital marketing, I decided to contact him on 12/27/2016 to express my concerns.
I received a reply this morning, 12/28/2016, in which he again asked me to design the email marketing campaigns (although I've explained to him repeatedly that I cannot figure out the software his company uses to send these). He indicated in the email that one of my keywords (out of 10) was ranked #2 on Google but that others are still not ranked page 1 in Google after one month--very different from the earlier representation that I would see results within a week.
I'm very frustrated and now feeling like I've wasted the $100 I spent on these services. It appears to me that limited attention and urgency has been given to my company's needs. I do not want a refund; I want this company to deliver on its frequently-changing promises to actually help my business. Without the help I was promised my business will soon fail. I explained this to Mr. Moulvi during our initial telephone conversation at length and received reassurance that his company would be different than the many others, which have unscrupulously taken my money.
I have retained all email communications between myself and Mr. Moulvi to further substantiate my complaint.
