Coast to Coast Lighting Co Sunrise lighting The girlscouts are run better then this........ Northridge, California

I wish i read this before i made the mistake of doing business with these guys. I purchased 2 flood lights for my flag in early december (12/11/12). The order shipped 2 days later (12/13/12). not a big deal for the most part and arrived a week later (12/19/12) only to find that the lights were about half as strong as i ordered. disappointed but figured that it was a mistake. contacted company and explained problem. return label was sent that minute but exchange lights didnt arrive for another week even though they receieved returns in 4 days (mailed on 12/20/13. they got the light 4 days later. i checked the tracking #). That would have still been ok but when i finally receieved the package not only was it still the wrong lights but this time they were even weaker then what was sent the first time. when i tried to contact office i was met with message say they were closed for holidays until 1/2/13.

When i finally spoke with someone when they came back and explained that now because of the delay there was snow and i couldnt get to the light fixtures to change them, i was told that was to bad and it was my problem and i just had to wait for the spring. i tried to me calm and speak with someone in sales or customer service only to find that this place has NO SUCH THING! every person i talked to was (no joke) something off of a TV show in which that stated i was wasting there time and that $200 for lights is the cost for 'their gym shoes' and no big deal and that they didnt care. they refuse to give me a refund and will not sent me a return label and then began making false claims that were in direct contract to the advertised web site.

i spoke with no less then 5 persons (john, Mike, Josh and 2 other unknowns) and they were complete a*s'. After checking i was able to find several other complaints about these 'boyz' when they were under differant company names. there diclaimer page goes into detail about all the things they will to do you if you take action against them but they forget to cover they part about fraud when they knowlingly or willingly fail to provide an advertised or purchased service. California Dept of Jusitice was notified this evening and it seems they i will have to follow through on the rest of the steps. all this just because these jags didnt know how to put 2 flood lights in a box. anyone who reads this be warned, they have no desire to actually resolve ANY problem you may have and i not only have print outs of the web pages of the lights, but i also have the payment and order receipt as well as photos to show what was purchased and what was sent and if the owner of coast 2 coast would like i can show phone logs of the times i contacted the business in an attempt to remedy this.

Socal/coast to coast lighting sunrise lighting they cheat. They lie. They steal. Michael hanna is engaging in interstate fraud and should be arrested. Chatsworth california

I placed a $1,200 order with michael for landscape lighting. My credit card was immediately charged and after no package in 10 days, i called to follow-up. "coincidentally," michael said he was shipping that day. Ten days later, the shipment arrived. Instead of the seven $119 fixtures i'd been charged for, there were seven $24.95 fixtures. And one of the items ordered, charged for, and included on the shipping manifest was not included in the shipment at all. I called michael the day the shipment arrived and he assured me that the proper fixtures and missing item would be shipped out the following day. Ten days later-no shipment. I emailed michael and got a return email with lots of excuses about holidays and shipping staff absences and he assured me the corrected items would be shipped that day and tracking information would be emailed to me. I emailed back that unless i received the shipping manifest and tracking numbers by cob in california that day, i would be disputing the order with my credit card company. The next day, at end of day, i received ups tracking numbers for a phantom package that he had created for the purpose of acquiring tracking numbers only, and had already created an intercept on the package before he sent me the tracking info. [ups admitted that it was an unusual and suspect shipping process, but went on to say they had no ability to investigate the shipper.] i don't know if interstate ups shipping is subject to mail fraud crimes under present law-i suspect it is when the usps participates in the final delivery of the package, but in any event, michael hanna and his organization should be investigated for interstate commerce criminal activity.

So cal lighting sunrise lighting sunrise lighting claims they are not sunrise lighting, charge card shows otherwise internet

So cal lighting aka sunrise lighting, aka socal lighitng, owner hany hanna aka michael hanna), claims they are not sunrise lighting. They make this claim because the complaints against sunrise got so voluminous and portrayed sunrise as so egregious, sunrise changed their name.

Ignorance is someties said to be bliss, so mr. Hanna should be a very happy fellow. When they changed their name the credit card merchant listed it as it really is sunrise - so cal. Sine mr.

This charge is for solid brass lights coated black, the only way i found out that they were not solid brass is the client wanted a raw finish, so we stripped them. All of the tops were of a lesser material than what was orderd and what is advertised on their site.

It is amazing, that whereas one might think there are agencies to help rectify a wrong, but merely by lieing to them, they state they can do nothing. As an example chase issued the card. They called sunrise and sunrise said they will give me new ones if i send the old ones. I have written correspondence from them stating they will not replace them unless i retract all of my statements. Since i am not lieing, i am not retracting, i will eat the money.

So cal lighting - socal lights - sunrise lights sunrise lighting do not buy stuff from so cal lighting! chatsworth, california

So cal sent the wrong product and won't replace it

I ordered a 150 ft spool of 120v rope lights. When the package arrived, the invoice indicated that the product was indeed 120v rope light. I followed the directions included and proceeded to cut the rope light to length and install the plug that was shipped with the lights. When the lights did not light up, i discovered a small sticker on the bottom spool that read 12v.

I contacted the company and was told that i needed to purchase a second spool of lights as i had uncoiled and cut the original lights.

The only solution offered by so cal was for me to make a second purchase because of their shipping error

So Cal Lighting - Socal Lights - Sunrise Lights Abusive speech by owner when complaint about products Northridge, California

I ordered brass landscape fixtures for a client's front yard. The complete project necessitated three orders. All three times there were issues with the fixtures, nothing insurmountable. When I called to complain, "Mike" (I understand him to be the owner) berated me. I decided to put the complaint into an email and the berating escalated, even challenging my manhood for being a complainer.

This is probably one of the worst customer service exchanges I have ever been a party to. I have all of my emails as well as Mike's replies. I will never purchase lights from them again, nor will I refer them to others. In fact, I will discourage anyone from purchasing from them. I also strongly suggest you put everything in writing as it could easily end up "he said..." etc.

Out of frustration I searched for companies selling comparable fixtures and bulbs. I actually found the company who sells the bulbs to them. We had an interesting conversation. I also found I could buy the bulbs for 1/2 what So Cal charges. I have not found the fixtures yet. They claim to make them themselves, but I somewhat doubt that as often times Mike would reference "the manufacturer", such as when he told me the manufacturer sometimes makes changes without telling "them". When I said I was told So Cal makes their own fixtures, he then said "well, yes, we own the manufacturing company."

They are replacing the wrong bulbs, but I must wait for them to get the wrong ones before they send me the right ones. A real man would send the right ones and wait for the wrong ones. The other issue, which they will not correct, is it looks as though they sent copper tops with some of the fixtures, the advertised product is "solid brass".

So cal lighting sunrise lighting sunrise inc charged my credit card for items i never received northridge, california

I contacted this sunrise inc/ so cal lighting by phone and gave them a list of lighting items i needed, and told them to call me with an estimate. When they called me and told me the lights would run over $7,000, i told them i would have to call them at a later date, because i could not afford to buy these items now. The man on the phone tried to negotiate with me and said he could get me the lighting i needed for around 5,000

I told him i still could not afford to buy the lighting now.

The man on the phone got very mad, and told me that i wasted his time, because he to get all of the pricing together.

About two months later, i started receiving harassing collection agency calls, stating that my credit card was maxed out. I knew i used the card rarely, so i asked what the charged were for, and they told me sunrise inc/ so cal lighting charged me 5,487.11 for lighting Which i had never approved nor received!!!)

I have been trying to contact them about these charges, but the man i need to speak with is never there!!

I just filed a report and my credit card company is investigating them.

I will keep you posted on this, but don't give these people your credit card info!

So Cal Lighting They flat out lie about the service, "what a circus"! Internet

So Cal Lighting sold me a bad $40.00 bulb and just kept jerking me around about replacing it. I liked to never got ahold of them. I sent it back and jumped through all the hoops and never heard anything. I kept calling and the guy would make empty promises, you could just tell by talking to him the place was in a state of confusion and that the truth didn't abide there. After a certain point it just became the principle of the thing, but after several months I just gave up. "Buyer beware", if you deal with these people.

So cal lighting they ripped me off for $5,000!! San Fernando Valley California

I spent $5,000 on 28 commercial LED uplights. What i got was 28 homemade lights that were done by someone that knew NOTHING about electric. wired incorrectly and all burned out in a month. when i called up to tell them they failed my 10 year waranty i was given, they tried to tell me it was my fault for ordering too high a wattage, back when they asked me what wattage i wanted, i said 45 watts. they said no problem, that will be $150 extra per light for that wattage. so i handed over $5,000. only months later i would receive my lights.

i would later find out that they gave me 35 watts (when i paid extra for 45w) then many months later they tried to make good on their bad lights by replacing the 45w fixtures i ordered with 18 watt fixtures!!! saying they can't install a higher wattage (of course no mention of the fact they charged me extra for something they didn't deliver on. now THESE lights are going out after only a week. i tried to be nice to work with them to minimize my losses. this company is pure HELL. plenty of bad reviews out there on them. don't make my mistake and not read them.

Buyer Beware of SO CAL Lighting. We purchased several items from SoCal Lighting April 2009 and will never buy from them again. My goal in life now is to expose them publicly. The depiction they represent is far from honest. My order was missing items and the items that did arrive were not USA made as advertised. And they would not take my claim on the phone or Email! This is how So Cal Lights replied to me in their emails: YOU SOUND LIKE YOUR TRYING TO STEAL FROM US. And because I stopped taking their calls (as I was tired of the insults) they also emailed me: YOUR NOT A MANBE A MAN PICK UP OUR CALLS Below is a break down of the events. Length of Time3 weeks for 6 light fixtures; Order was placed on April 15th 2009 early AM. I received it May 1st 2009! That's 16 days after I placed the order and they are located only 4 hours away from me. After I did a Google earth I realized that Socal Lights is nothing but a small rented office with a warehouse not much larger than a 2 car garage. They are not a factory or large corporation, a far cry from how they represent themselves on their web site. They obviously drop ship 99.9% of the items posted on their site. Misleading and False advertising on Socal Lights Web site: They have a USA flag on the top of many of their web pages to help their deception. And on their web site the clearly note that ALL of their brass and copper items are USA made. Well the items I received were brass and copper and they were NOT USA made. When I noted this in my email/claim, the reply was your right and we should change that to MOST of our items are USA made. I replied that would not be acceptable or honest as the word most does NOT tell the public WHICH specific items are USA made. They even tried to old bait and switch on me when I told them I wanted to return the NON USA made lights, by offering me a fixture at almost TRIPLE the cost and they assured me that one would be USA made! The nerve! They also post that they are #rated by some contractors digest. Well I checked this out and found no such place exists to provide a rating. And the BBB (better business bureau) verified this as well (see below). They also display a large banner making you believe they have 20 years experience. They have only been open since April 2004! And based on the BBB records and after speaking with Mr. Mitchell (the president of the BBB southern California branch) we concluded that there is no way that any one at So Cal could have 20 years experience. The Better Business Bureau When I checked out SoCal Lighting with the BBB I noted that not only was BBB after them but so were several other government agencies. And the BBB provides the real information on ownership. So Cal lights web site posts phony owners name. The BBB also identified them under two company names. Apparently they are also a company called Sunrise Lights which has an established bad reputation. Hence the attempted name change to Socal. But the BBB caught that and exposed that as well. Here is what the BBB also notes about So Cal Lighting: On March 27, 2009, we wrote to this company asking them to substantiate their claim that they are rated number one. We are requesting the company to provide the specific publication where they bestowed this rating on him, provide the circulation of the publication, and explain in detail the criteria that was used to designate his company as number one. We asked the company to contact our office within the next ten days. The company responded to our request by stating they will provide a copy of the publication in May 2009. We will await the publication. This company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. The company continues to misuse the Bureau's name and/or logo improperly and without permission. The company has been notified to remove all references to the Better Business Bureau's name, logo, and/or initials. They would NOT take our claim on the phone or via email: When we purchased no where did it say should we have a claim we would need a fax. And since we did NOT need a fax when we bought it only makes sense that we would NOT need one if we had a claim. When I explained that I did not have a fax, the unidentified person who refused to give his or her name replied that's our policy. They would NOT even take my claim VIA email! When I debated that the fax policy was not posted when I bought the person that wanted to remain anonymous at Socal lighting replied I will see what I can do. Of course they NEVER replied again, EXCEPT by telling me I am a liar and not a man. Jim C. San Martin, California
