In September, a friend stood up at a big meeting and mentioned to folks that Joe Beaver owner of Smokey's Auto would sell a bike for a 500.00 commish. My mom called smokey and he said that was true. She made a deal for him to sell her bike in October. He sold it for 16,500.00 he said. He never provided any paperwork to prove this. He gave me mom 15000 instead of 16000 and made alot of excuses. Since he was hedging, my mom filed a state attorney general complaint and bbb complaint. Joe Beaver called my mom and left a voicemail that he was sorry and that his reputation was important and he would give my mom her 1000.00.
My mom was so happy because she trusted Smokey. He laid a good rap on her and she was hoping he wasn't a snake. Well, Joe Beaver, (Smokey), changed his mind and never sent her, her money. His excuses ranged from
1. Had to loan the buyer 1000.00 and wanted his back.
2. Tax Title and License
3. Did not make enough money.
My mom is about to turn 65, yes senior citizen and disabled. This was a disgustingly deplorable way to honor an agreement and we want to get the word out so that no one else leaves Smokey's Auto Sales cheated. Old saying "anything too good to be true, usually is" and sure applies to this creep. On a positive note, he does live up to the used car salesman rep.
He prices his consignments low in most cases, makes me wonder what is wrong with the vehicle. There are plenty of reputable sales companies and people in Albuquerque.
