Photographers beware! I am a photographer in Nashville, TN and was hired by SmartTours.co / Virtual Tours to shoot more than 52 AirBNB+ properties here. Ray (Raul) Espinoza with SmartTours.co contacted me for these shoots. I did a test shoot, and was accepted into the AirBNB program. I was told upon completion of the first successful shoot that we would be getting 60+ new shoots.
Ray, and his admin were in regular contact with me on the shoots until I started asking questions abdout the invoices I had sent. He maintained they would be paying, they had just sent out a check, or that they had direct deposited to my bank account. I am not sure how he had imagined they had direct deposited to my account without having my banking information int he first place.
In total, I invoiced Virtual Tours a total of $8,371. I was paid a total of $2,465, and $5,906 is outstanding. All invoices are over 120 days old. The company has completely ghosted me.
If you are a photographer, I suggest you do not work with this company. If you must, I suggest you demand payment up front for every individual shoot. Later I found out from Meero (the company AirBNB hired to handle shoot production, and scheduling) that SmartTours was never actually allowed to have thrid party photographers submit work, and htat Meero actually thought SmartTours was doing the actual work.
