For no reason whatsoever I had my rate for rental increased 6 times in 2 years, I have always paid on time.
It looks like it's just it's just corporate greed. As of late it was a increase every 6 months. The staff on site always polite (just doing thier job)
I forced myself to move out 7-27-19 as another increase in the horizon, it was a hot 100+ degree day moving, which it is in your best interest not to rent here. It's not "SMART"
I had a 10x10 space for $175 a month, I got a10x20 space for $105 per month just 3 miles away. (do your research)
Take your belongings somewhere else. These people are masters at giving you the run around. It took 5 phone calls to try to get someone to take a credit card payment over the phone. They won't let you pay online unless it is within a certain timeframe and then demand an additional fee for paying over the phone. They change their rates with no notice and have ZERO compassion to try to problem Solve or provide resolution.
The staff is awful as well. They will consistently tell you "oh yes my manager will call you back etc ..." in more than a year with them, no phone call at all.
I give up with them, you should just take your things somewhere else.
Extra Space Storage lied by claiming to allegedly have sold their storage business to a company named Smart Stop Self Storage. The TRUE FACTS are that Extra Space Storage in FACT is the corporation who OWNS Smart Stop Storage. They have been fraudulently moving the billing date around in order to create LATE FEES for customers. The original insurance carrier was dropped when the name changed to Smart Stop and a NEW insurance company was being used but A NEW CONTRACT with the NEW insurance company was provided and/or informed customers of the NEW INSURANCE information: company name or new cost!
The gate was left OPEN for several months in order to allow thieves to enter the facility, saw off locks on storage units and steal ANY items they choose out of people's storage units. Storage units are allowed to be left OPEN all night creating the opportunity for RATS to enter all the storage units and cause extensive damage to our things in our storage units.There are ONLY 2 security cameras in the whole facility which are located ONLY at the gate!!
