The company Pack Move Smart (Smart Packer) were contracted to do a move for me--the move was 4 miles apart, door to door. The team packed my items in a truck that I rented. When they started unloading furniture, I could see that there were several broken items. One was a brand new desk that I purchased maybe three months earlier. The second was a cedar chest. I know this was not broken prior to it being packed because the lead mover commented on how heavy it was after wrapping it. I told him it had been with me for over 15 years and carried books and files. The team was diligent about pointing out any damage that was found on any pieces of furniture prior to it being put on the truck.

Apparently they had the furniture on its side or upside down on the truck because by the time we unwrapped the different pieces, the shelves in all of the cabinets were knocked out of place (and contents everywhere). I pointed out two pieces of furniture with damage on it as the movers were unloading. The lead mover made a comment that it 'must have been the other two guys when they brought the furniture inside' because he 'knows it wasn't broken when he unloaded it off the truck'. He ACKNOWLEDGED that they broke it.

The last piece of furniture that had damaged was an entryway table. The corners got tagged but I wasn't so worried about it because it was done in the back and not easily seen. I probably would not have taken it to this level of reporting if someone had JUST ANSWERED THE PHONE OR RESPONDED TO AN EMAIL OR TEXT regarding my damage. I texted, called and email. I then got new contact info off the BBB website and those phones only direct you to another phone number. Those phone numbers had full voicemails. I got one text back about four days ago that responded with, "Sorry we missed your call--how can we help you?" And when I texted that I was looking for resolution on a damage claim, I got no further response.

I want reimbursement for my damaged furniture.
