I have a very strong warning for you if you are considering subscribing to the Smart Money Tracker Premium trading service, run by Gary Savage. He is a con artist of the highest degree and I don't doubt that every one of his subs has been suckered into a least one of his massive losing trades. Many have blown up their accounts because, Gary's trading style throws risk-management out the window. He swings for the fences with highly-leveraged trades and has no idea what to do when they go against him. He has a very confident and friendly demeanor. He convinces people that he is the "smart money" and if you don't follow him, you are acting like "dumb money" and will never be successful.
If you check out his free blog or purchase an ill-fated subscription, you may find that he has some adoring subs and you won't hear any complaints. So, he must be good, right? This is just another trap to convince you that he has a very successful service. The real story is that Gary bans anyone that complains about his disastrous trades and those that say they won't be renewing their subscription. Gary sells hope. That is why some people stay. He tells them that if they follow him, they will become insanely rich. He talks about huge gains like, "600-800%" are right around the corner and they just need to be patient. These gains are supposed to come from a new gold bull market. He has been dragging his subs through the bear market, primarily trading miners and losing money, since 2011.
He starts "model portfolios" and when the losses pile up, he deletes them and starts fresh, again. He does make a few good calls and trades. The big problem with that is eventually, the gains turns into losses. Those few good trades sucker people in and they start investing more heavily, just in time for the hammer to drop. The losses are massive because, they're in triple-leveraged funds and options.
Gary purposely, makes things confusing and deceptive so, he can claim that he's right no matter what happens. He also, repeatedly, uses manipulation as excuse for being wrong. I could write a book about his devious ways but, I'm am going to just complete this review with a few examples.
Most of the options and LEAPS trades that I have witnessed have expired worthless. If not, he loses any profits that he has made and he even admits that he brings more cash into his own personal portfolio to trade. I've witnesses multiple times when, he has held 3X etfs with 50-70% losses. A recent example is when his "metals portfolio" was 100% invested in 3X etfs. He bought JNUG at $23.XX and convinced subs to hold it all the way down to $10. Then, he closed his model portfolio and he told subs that he was NOT selling his holdings so, many subs followed his lead. Subsequently, JNUG went to $3.77. That's almost an 85% loss!! This isn't a one-time event, either. He's done the same thing in the past with metals, the stock market and oil.
He has convinced some otherwise smart people, to destroy their portfolios! They believed in him. He doesn't care about the havoc he wreaks. If you don't believe that I am telling you the truth, please don't forget my warning. If you subscribe, you will say, "Wow! That review was right!". If you think that you are going to try out his service and just observe or trade small at the beginning – that won’t help. You may see a few small losses and some wins and think to yourself. “He’s seems O.K. Everyone has losses.”, etc. When, you are heading for a massive loss, Gary will use the same convincing words that he uses when the trades do work out. If you are lucky enough to get a big win, you will be even more confident and become a fat sheep for the slaughter. I am seriously, giving this review so that others don’t need to waste their time and money going through what I and many others have gone through.
Gary is a master at using unassuming sales techniques and psychology. He’s not the fast-talking “sleazy used car salesman”. He becomes a buddy that you trust. This sets his subs up for the big fall. Save yourself the heartache.
