Slice of New York Pizza at Hillsborough Street Reviews
Apr 23, 2020
The quality of the food at this business has been on the decline for years and as of two days ago, I am no longer a customer.
I wanted to give this establishment a chance particularly during their down time due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, after being cheated the other night and following the management's refusal to do the right thing, I am eating pizza elsewhere...this is easy to do given all the pizza choices in Raleigh and Cary. I ordered 3 Philly Steak & Cheese sandwiches and didn't think that I had to check to ensure that the worker put onions and green peppers on them. After all, this is how the sandwich is advertised on the restaurant's website. This is how to make a PS&C. How could someone forget to make a simple sandwich? I was standing at the register as the worker took the sandwiches out of the oven and didn't think that I had to tell him how to do his simple job. If the people who work there do not know how to properly prepare all of the food selections, then either train them or stop selling certain menu items.
It is this type of subpar, second-class service why I am unsympathetic to restaurant workers during the coronavirus pandemic. These people expect extra large tips, extra large orders, but giving poor service and expecting the customer to pay up because 50 percent of their business is gone. Boo h*o!!! Fortunately, am not experiencing any financial issues and spending nearly $25 on 3 sandwiches which tasted like mud pies with a 1x1 piece of cheese slabbed on top, is not going to send me into bankruptcy. However, it may for some. In which case, this pizza place needs to learn the value of the customer. Understand that even large corporate-based restaurants are having to close for good due to loss business during the pandemic and these places gave good service as well as had good food. It's coming for you too, Slice of NY Pizza.
