I hired Slentz Electric to do a full service change and re-wire on my home - the owner George Perry quoted me $9,000 over the phone with demo of the kitchen, dinning room and bathroom, once I contracted them to do the job, his company informed me the price was now $10,800 (20% more than quote), he also said it was going to be a 7-10 day job (2 full work weeks.) The job began on Tuesday Oct. 13th 2015. Today is November 7th and the job is still not completed.
George sent over his two D-List employees, who were inexperienced and unequipped to handle the job, using homeowner's tools for several days - no supervisor or lead contractor was present to assure they got the job done correctly; one worker even informed me this was the first time he was left alone to get a job done. For starters they left a mess behind everyday: drywall debris, copper wire clippings, screws, nails, cigarette butts, empty water/soda bottles everywhere. I was occupying the residence during the entire re-wire. During which me and my dogs were stepping on drywall debris, wire clippings, screws, nails and inhaling drywall and sawdust from demo of my walls and ceiling. We are all sick now because Slentz did not equip their workers with the proper tools, including a air purification or ventilation for the dust particles in the air. I now have bronchitis, and my dogs are also sick with kennel cough. I also had to constantly pull drywall chunks, screws and copper wires from my puppy's mouth. The workers cut corners, broke lights of mine, lost parts and screws for faceplates and light fixtures, and the lead worker would argue if I or anyone else told them I didn't like something they did or he was doing it wrong. Not to mention they were drinking alcohol and smoking pot on the job. After they claimed the job was completed, there are still issues to fix, such as: empty electrical outlet boxes with live wire, which can cause a fire and burn my house down, Exterior AC cable not caulked, both of these would cause final inspection to fail. There is much more however space is limited in these reviews.
The owner of Slentz knew the homeowner was going to be occupying the residence for the duration of the job, yet was forced to go 7 days with power, 5 days without hot water and over 3 weeks without a laundry hookup. Signifiant repairs are needed to fix the damages done to the home, in excess of $500.00 (drywall, hardwood floors, ceiling, re-paint, etc.) plus broken lights and missing parts to expensive faceplates and fixtures. Cleaning bill; including sweeping, vacuum, dusting, carpet and furniture upholstery cleaning and shampoo, air purification, for nearly entire house.
Owner of Slentz, (George Perry), repeatedly pulled workers off job for other, "more important" jobs while lying to homeowner about why workers did not show up.
Today, the owner of Slentz (George Perry) contacting me and made threats about not paying immediately, even though the job was not complete - ("You'll wake up a lion"), being upset about the final inspection being moved until later in the week, since the inspector and I have conflicting schedules, the lead worker wanted me to leave him along in my house to wait on inspector, and trust him alone here. Now George is claiming he will lien the property, and still not accepting responsibility for his employees and what they did.
Final Inspection will not pass.
In closing, I highly recommend you hire anyone else to do you electrical work, I wish I did, now I have the employees and the owner of Slentz attempting to "Seek Revenge" because I called them out on doing a crummy job yet still charging a fortune for their service. If I could give them Zero stars I certainly would. Best of Luck in searching for a competent electrical contractor.
