Do not buy from Sleep number!!!! Our pump was broken after 7 years (purchased in 7/15, and now is 11/22), and the bed is deflated. The part is on back order with no ETA, but they want me to pay for it ahead of time in order to be on-line to get the pump. When I asked how long has the part been on back order, they told me since April 2021.
This is a $7K king size bed with less than 10 years. When I brought the bed, they told me it has a warranty of 15 years. So why I have to pay for the part? I don't mind I will pay just so I can sleep on the bed. Then I have to pay for something ahead of time with no ETA? So now I have a $7K bed I am not able to sleep on and not sure when it will be fixed. DO NOT BUY THIS BED!! It is good when it is working. I am now stuck with an expensive bed that can not be sleep on. DON'T BE A SUCKER. I AM, and I regret it.
My husand and I purchased a bed on 9/19/22 for $2723.26 at the Sleep Number store in Columbus GA. This was a huge investment for us, and we were very excited to receive our new bed. We anxiously counted the days until 11/2, it was a long wait but worth it to finally have a good bed.
On the date of our scheduled delivery, my husband received a phone call from one of the delivery technicians. He stated he was not allowed to enter Fort Benning (we live on an Army installation and were told this was not a problem). The truck and the other technician were allowed to enter, just not this specific person. Considering the only reason someone would not be allowed to enter would be due to an active arrest warrant or history of serious felony, this was extremely concerning to us and I sincerely hope this gentleman has been fired because someone like that should not be entering unknowing people's homes!
We called the store and customer service lines, eventually got connected to the supervisor of delivery services, and after a great deal of fighting, our delivery was rescheduled for a few days later, on 11/5/22 (today). It took a lot of fighting on my husband's end because initially they told us they would have to reschedule us and the next opening they had was months away.
Well today is 11/5, the new delivery date and today the delivery technician has been keeping in touch with my husband all day, told him they were on their way, then told him they were about 30 min away, etc. Then suddenly he received another call, this time the delivery technician told him they didn't check to see if our order was on the truck before they left and they don't have our bed. It is still in Atlanta, 2 HOURS AWAY and that we will not be receiving our bed again today.
This is infuriating and completely unacceptable. My husband and I have extremely busy and important jobs and twice now we have had to rearrange our work schedules and leave work to receive shipments that never arrived. They have no solution for us and no one is trying to help.
On 6-14-2022 I purchased a pillow from the Sleep Number Casper, Wyoming store. The told me that I had 100 nights to return it, if I didn't like it. I paid $115.49 cash. The assured me that if I returned it, I would get all of my money back. They printed me a sales reciept.
On 7-13-2022 I went back to return it. First off they told me that they couldn't give me my money back, that they would sent me a check. But they couldn't tell me how long it would take to get the check. Then they told me that they couldn't print me anything showing I had returned it. I guess they thought that I would just leave the pillow without any proof I had returned it.
I went to the Sleep Numbers bed place at 10990 store in Port Richy Florida on 11/18/21. Dyllan said that my bed could not be delivered until January 3, 2022 but from the moment when I ordered the bed I was told that the bed would be 100% refundable if I did not want any part of this bed, all I had to do was try it out for 100 days and if I didn't like it simply call Sleep Numbers and they would gladly come and pick it up and refund me my entire purchase price!
That was a lie number one. First of all after finding out after I got the bed and I want to turn it back in after seven days of having it I was then told that the purchase of the flex fit adjustable base was not 100% refundable. I would only get back $600, because some of the features of the base would no longer be usable so they would credit me back $600 out of a whomping $2399!
I told her why would I want to have something in the first place that was told to me was 100% refundable and I'll be in told that it's only $600 refundable out of $2399. I would've never bought the bed in the first place! The person that I had spoke to on that event was a supervisor and her name was Kari Arthur. She then told me that if I were to trade my mattress and since I had bought a dual sleeping mattress and I was a single sleeper I should try the single sleeping mattress and maybe it would be better for me. Not saying a word that if I were to trade this mattress in that I would be disqualifying myself from a complete refund of the mattress itself!
Again, if I were told this information I would never have along with this at all. I would have said come and get your sorry overpriced air mattress and have been done with this BS. Back a week after getting this POS. so when I called back again now because I'm not liking the 2nd mattress again this is when I found out then I have been literally disqualified from refunding even the mattress part of his bed and getting stuck with another $2649.50 worth of this sorry remained in bed that is a piece of crap and no different than sleeping on a over priced blowup mattress!
I cannot handle a company who sits there and plays against the consumer when things are not described or told to them until after the fact! I was willing to suck up the money that I was going to have to pay for the base of the bed. But now to get stuck not being able to even get the refund for the bed so I can get a quality good nights sleep this is beyond apprehensible and this company needs to be held accountable for its practices and the way that they screw the consumer just to get a sale! My next call will be to John Wark.
Faulty bed frame--they have finally acknowleged it needs to be replaced. However they say they cannot do it before September. This issue has been going on for more than 2 months. In the meantime they promise to have someone call me but never do!
After our old bed began to form dips and impressions, my sleep quality suffered and it was time to find a new mattress. I'm a tosser-turner, moving from my back to my sides all night long. I saw a commercial advertising Sleep Number's auto-adjustment feature they call "Responsive Air" and that got me excited. For sleeping on my back I want a firmer mattress but for my sides I want something soft. This seemed like a perfect solution.
My wife and I walked into the showroom very excited to test the beds and we were not disappointed. The showroom models are terrific! I honestly could not feel a difference between the C4 model and the P5, so the additional $1,000 did not make economic sense to me.
My wife and I tried the beds several times in several positions. Knowing that I toss and turn all night we mimicked this behavior on the showroom model. She was content, couldn't notice my movement. That is the most important feature for us when looking for a bed. But that's not what we got.
So what's the difference between the showroom model and the bed I had delivered to my house? There's something VERY different here.
First of all, it's the noisiest bed I've ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with. If you don't know, what Sleep Number touts as "air chambers" are really just air mattresses. There's nothing fancy going on here. If you've ever slept on an air mattress, you know what this bed sounds like. But it won't sound like that on the showroom floor.
There's also the sound of the velcro that keeps the mattress from sliding away from the box springs (important because of the hose that runs from the box spring to the mattress itself). This is not good velcro. It's extremely thin and makes crackly sounds. So on top of the air mattress squeals, it sounds like I'm wearing a diaper every time I adjust myself. And you guessed it, the showroom model did not make these sounds.
Every move I make, the mattress creaks and groans. Not to mention that because the mattress is very light (you know, because air) the bed frame doesn't have enough weight to prevent it from moving like it would with a typical mattress.
The floor model did not sound like this. The beds we tested did not move or crackle or squeak or groan or do anything but sound like a typical, quiet mattress.
Now let's talk about that big selling point, the adjustable firmness for when I move from back to side. Well now you have the rumbly vibrations of the pump (another thing I couldn't feel or hear while testing the showroom model) and that's IF the mattress decides to acknowledge you've moved (simply put, the biggest selling feature for me does not work at all).
Noise aside, my wife and I can feel every move the other makes. It's maddening and impossible to get a good night's rest. After a week on this thing my wife and I are both at each other's throats all day simply because we're tired. Isn't that the worst sin a mattress can commit?
The Sleep Number app, SleepIQ, is almost worthless. The numbers associated with firmness are not accurate from one minute to the next. I worked my way through the settings multiple times trying to find my number. But at any given time, 50 might feel like 30, or it might feel like 100. The numbers mean nothing because the machine can't accurately depict how much pressure is in the bladder from one moment to the next.
And then there's the large impression I leave behind when I get out of the bed (not easy to do when the bed is set to a softer setting because you're sleeping in a bowl). I got rid of my old bed because a large dip had formed, but this bed comes fully featured with a dip if you want a softer experience.
To summarize all this up: my lower back hurts, my upper back hurts, my shoulders hurt, my neck hurts. I've had 3 headaches this week and I've only had the bed for 7 days. My wife and I are tired and we're out $400 (the $200 installation fee and the $200 restocking fee).
This bed is not comfortable. It's materials are cheap and the bed itself is overpriced. Do no think the beds you are testing in the store will be anything like what's delivered to your home.
Sleep number bed left side gose flat since 4 April 2019 Sleep number will not replace the bed only part4 air chambers 3 air pumps still goes fllat. I need HELPP
This specific situation took place at the Sleep Number store in St Augustine, FL:
My wife and I purchased a king-sized split with adjustable base on July 5th. While in the store we explained to our salesperson that we had purchased a bed about 5 years ago that was non-refundable and did not want to end up in that position ever again.
We tried numerous beds and settled on the P5. The salesperson talked us into the adjustable split base telling us that we might really wish we had that when we are older. So...we figured it would be worth trying out since it was a 100-day trial. What the salesperson FAILED to tell us is that the bases are non-returnable, non-refundable, sales final items!!!
After 4 hours in the store we just wanted to get done and get out. We checked out and neither my wife nor I had our glasses on to be able to see the receipt or read the details. The three people in the store, including the manager, knew that. They had my wife initial a form that neither of us could read and not one of them bothered to mention that we were signing in agreement of the non-returnable base. They knew full well we did not want anything to do with a situation that would not allow us to return everything.
I have to be fair and very clear...my wife did initial the form stating the details of the non-returnable base, but again, the store manager and salesperson both knew neither of us could read it and didn't bother to explain this very important detail to us. This is something that should be explained to the customer, not a detail that you initial agreeing to upon checking out.
Yes...we are to blame for not driving home (30 minutes away) to get our glasses, no doubt about that. However; you would think that the company would care about the customer and disclose everything up front.
Even after going as high as I possibly could with the corporate office, not one single person cared about the situation or how the store personnel handled it. The only thing they would continue to repeat, all the way up to the CEO's level, is that my wife initialed the form and there's nothing they can do. AND WE'VE ONLY HAD THE BED FOR A WEEK!!!
It was actually at the CEO’s level where I was treated the worst. Very rude and the person didn’t care at all about the situation. All he cared about is the fact that he had the initialed form and that’s the end of it…we’re stuck.
Keep in mind, these bases are not special-order items, not specifically designed to our specifications, etc…they can easily sell them again; they’re only a week old. It’s a ridiculous policy.
If you are desperate enough to want a Sleep Number bed, please do yourself a favor and know that the store personnel WILL be deceptive. They are like a drug cartel and all they care about is the final sale, not how you get there. Very unprofessional...from the store level all the way up to the CEO level.
Buyer Beware and Be Very Careful About What You Sign With Them!!!
Yes, we are at fault for not reading first…I can’t say that enough. It would be nice if Sleep Number could admit their deception and extremely unprofessional sales tactics, along with the lack of concern for the customer from the corporate level.
It’s like dealing with a used car dealership…the minute you drive off the lot, the product is your problem, not theirs. Very sad.
Here’s an excerpt from an online chat showing just how concerned they really are:
Maria: I am not sure what else I can do for you, but I assure you that your concerns are heard. I am sorry that you had this experience, Roger.
Me: As I have found today, my concerns mean nothing to your company. Everyone I have spoken to has made that clear or they would remedy the situation.
Maria: If you or your wife did not read the terms and conditions, glasses on or not, there is not much that we can do. I am sorry about that. You have spoken to the highest available person in the chain of command. You are welcome to leave reviews. But if there is nothing else that I can do for you, aside from set up another callback, I will have to end the chat.
I bought a mattress from sleep number and not was it a piece of junk it was way over priced . All it is is a glorified air mattress that is hooked to machine to keep the airbag inflated and for this they charge over six thousand dollars. I was not told there would be a pickup return charge of one hundred and ninety two dollars or I would not have bought it in the first place.
My wife purchased 2 expensive pellows (over $100 each retail) and was told that the pellows were made in the USA. Tags outside the product indicated this to be true. However, when you open the product, the first tag you see on the pellow itself is "Made in China". We do not buy anything made in China and my wife was assured that it was not made in China. In addition, the sales associate told her that if she wasn't happy with the product, she could return it and get a full refund. The sales person then provided my wife with a sheet highlighting that if not fully satisfied the item could be returned for a full refund. When we brought the pellows back to the store, we were informed that pellows could not be returned. When we told the sales person that the product was misrepresented and that we need our $200.00 refunded, she gave us the number of the company in WI. We called the customer service number and was told that pellow items could only be returned for addition product. Problem is, Sleep Number pellows and virtually everything else in the store is made in CHINA which does us no good. They would not refund our money and the costomer service representative hung up on me when I got upset. I will never go back there and would recommend that anyone wanting to purchase mattresses, pellows or any type of bedding, not go the Sleep Number, a division of Select Comfort Corporation
About 2 months ago, I experienced a house fire. Thankfully, the majority of the damage was house furnishings and nobody was home when it happened. When my pregnant girlfriend and I were shopping for mattresses, we discovered Sleep Number and were sold instantly. The instant draw-back from ordering from the store was that they quoted us a 6-8 week delivery time. At the time, we had been staying in a hotel while we were figuring out our housing situation.
As soon as we figured out a new place to live, we checked out the Sleep Number website and were pleased to see delivery times quoted at 2-3 weeks. So, we ordered directly from the site and waited with excited anticipation. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. After the third week, we called into customer service to see why we had not received a tracking number regarding the delivery. The first person that we spoke to said that they were a few days out of their normal delivery time and we should receive updated tracking info in a few days. After a few days with no tracking info, we called in again to see what the delivery status was. This time, the person that we spoke to said that the delivery might not happen until mid December, but we should expect the mattress sooner.
After some deliberation about whether or not to wait such a long time for delivery (girlfriend is in her third trimester and very pregnant, we are sleeping between couches and a spare bed that isn't big enough for us), we decided to call back and see what our options for refund were. The person that we spoke to in customer service this time assured us that the mattress would be shipped the following Friday and we would have it by Thanksgiving (tomorrow at the time of this report). On the quoted date of shipment, we called in to verify that shipping would occur since it was nearing the end of the day and had not received any tracking info. As if they are trained to be unhelpful, the customer service said that they had no record of any mattress being shipped for us and that they did not know when it would ship; and further that they didn't know why we would be quoted specific shipping times to begin with.
Ever frustrated at this point (we were nearing a month after order), I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor. Conveniently for them, they don't transfer to manager but they put in a request for you to receive a call back. We requested a call back, and they never called back within the time-frame quoted. We tried again to get in contact with someone "up the chain" in the customer service department and were basically stonewalled with the promise of a call-back. Finally, after posting a negative response on Facebook, we were messaged directly by representative from SN and promised a credit and that someone would be looking into our shipping problem, with some specific info (regarding our case) to call back with. As instructed, we called back in to attempt and rectify this problem. This person told us another story about the state of things at SN (system upgrade, don't know why your mattress order slipped through the system, etc) and said that they would get us our mattress shipped out asap, upon manager approval. We were quoted another 24 hour call-back to confirm. SN failed to call back, again. This has been a recurring theme over the last 2 weeks. When I called back this morning, they said "we can cancel your order or I can request that a supervisor call you back". Pathetic.
We have literally lost a month of sleep waiting on these buffoons to deliver as they promised they would when the took our payment, and I can't even get a call back from someone that pretends to care. Now, I am faced with the further dilemma of just scrapping the whole idea of a sleep number (everyone that I know that has one raves about it) and going the path of something else AND I have lost a month of sleep. The last person that I spoke with in the customer service department said that every call that she receives is saying the same thing. Sleep Number is having trouble and won't fess up to their customers. This smells of class-action.
I called the company direct to ask as many questions as possible to get a good matress . I wanted the best they had to get a good product , I was told to order there top of the line california King ,with recling and message features , I explaned that i had a king size mattres now .
