SKYTRAK GOLF / SKYHAWKE TECHNOLOGIES, LLC has seeminlgy pulled a good old fashioned bait & switch tactic as well as using deceptive advertising with its current customers. As you read this I believe you will find that this is certainly an unethical business practice and I question the legality of what they have done.
So here is the scenario...
Within the past year I have purchased 2 Skytrak launch monitors at the price of $1995/unit followed by 2 "Lifetime" licenses for TGC (The Golf Club) at the price of $995/per unit and also at the time of purchase I had selected 2 of what was known as the GIP (Game Improvement Package) for $99/Year which was required for me to use the Skytrak device with TGC software.
At the time of purchase it was understood that I would be required to continue paying the $99/Year pricing to allow me to continue to use the of my "Lifetime" TGC software with my Skytrak.
A day or so ago without any notice to exisitng customers SkyTrak / SkyGolf raised their $99 per unit yearly fees to more than double what I had originally signed up and agreed to. They are now forcing existing customers to pay $199.95 per unit yearly for the same service. If we do not pay the $199.95 for the service we will no longer be able to use our "LifeTime" licenses for TGC. Essentially forcing us to pay more than double or else we can only use their Application and not the TGC Lifetime license.
I did contact SkyTrak today at their 1-866-940-4279 number to inquire and explain my concerns over what I felt was an unethical business choice that I was very displeased with. After confirming both of my accounts on both devices the customer support technician stated that all he could do was to relay the information to a manager within the organization.
As of yesterday the SkyTrak made the change on their billing side however I was able to find on their website that they had listed that all that was required was the $99 GIP package which can be seen as I posted publically on a Golf Simulator Message Board.
My issue here is not with TGC since they are allowing us to more our licenses to another device if we so choose but the issue remains with the questional business practice of SkyTrak Golf /
I expect the company to treat and respect the deal that it previosuly offered and honor their original pricing of $99/Year per unit for those of us that are existing customers. We should be grandfathered in and not be forced to pay more than double ($199.95) for the right to play software that we bought a "Lifetime" license for.
