Skydive Monterey Bay Reviews
I bought a Groupon for a "Weekend VIP Jump for One" at Skydive Monterey Bay and booked an appointment at Skydive Monterey Bay on May 8, 2021. The Groupon was redeemed by Skydive Monterey Bay without my knowledge or consent on May 8, 2021. In other words, the Groupon was redeemed before I ever entered the Skydive Monterey Bay facility and before I signed any paperwork or contract with Skydive Monterey Bay.
Skydive Monterey Bay cancelled my reserved skydive jumps on three different occasions after I drove six hours from Los Angeles and waited six hours in the hangar. I asked Skydive Monterey Bay for a Groupon refund, and the staff refused.
I gave my voucher to a friend. Skydive Monterey Bay cancelled on my friend, as their plane malfunctioned. My friend also drove six hours from Los Angeles and waited six hours in the hangar. My friend asked Skydive Monterey Bay to refund my Groupon, as he no longer felt safe jumping with the company, and neither did I. After much disagreement, the staff complied.
Skydive Monterey Bay requested that I return my physical voucher to them, which we did, and we took a photo of the voucher while we were still in their building. Skydive Monterey Bay refunded my friend the $6 difference he paid for the weight fee, but never refunded me for my Groupon.
Despite several requests to speak to the owner, she has not returned any emails or calls. I lost approximately $300 for my Groupon, travel expenses, and six months of time communicating with the Skydive Monterey Bay team who has seemed to lost all of my paperwork. I have copies of the redeemed Groupon voucher, the physical Skydive Monterey Bay voucher, and had to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission to try to get a refund.
Absolutely ridiculous that I’m even having to take the time to warn other people about this company.
