My Photon Genius quit working. It is in a foreign country. I had an electrical engineer remove the computer component considering bringing the machine back to the US would cause a financial hardship.
I contacted Skilling institute and asked if I could bring the component in to be repaired. I was told not to bring it to the place of business. I continued to pursue getting it repaired and was told I need to take a picture of the machine. Being that I am in the US for months that was not possible until I return.
The computer component is the issue. Stalling me and not being willing to fix the component or even take a look at it is not acceptable. They evidently don’t stand behind their product when something fails. Susan Sullivan is slow to respond, appears to be very sketchy and obviously is stalling me. I don’t even believe they are still in business.
We apologize if there was any miscommunication regarding Skilling Institute's warranty and repair policies when you last made contact with us. The Skilling Institute is happy to provide service for your Photon Genius sauna that was originally purchased in 2011 and shipped to Oklahoma. As is true across all industries, the customer is responsible for the cost of repair (labor and parts) when a product is outside the warranty period. Skilling Institute provides a one-year full warranty for the Photon Genius, and because your sauna was purchased in 2011, it is clearly outside its one year warranty period.
Due to the complexity and integrated nature of the sauna's circuitry, we do not provide customers with any individual replacement components. In fact, any components that are tampered with can void the one-year warranty and potentially void any ongoing service at the discretion of Skilling Institute. Any assumption that a single component can simply be replaced is erroneous due to the complexity and integration of the sauna's circuitry. Moreover, Skilling Institute has proudly made substantial changes to the sauna's components since the 2011 year model. As such, any repairs made to older model saunas must account for the upgrades that have been made to components as Skilling does not continually support all older circuitry as it generally implements component upgrades.
For proper repairs through Skilling Institute, an onsite service call is required by one of our trained technicians or the sauna needs to be shipped to one of our service locations.
Our understanding is that you recently shipped your sauna to Ecuador, where it remains presently. Currently, we do not have service technicians or service centers in Ecuador and therefore at this time, we are unable to service your sauna in Ecuador. For proper evaluation and repairs, the only option is for your sauna to be shipped to our service location in the United States for repair.
