Bill Dhillion AKA Surjit Dhillion, builds homes in Vancouver area, we hired him at below the market per square foot thinking we could save money. He promised us completion of construction between 6-8 months after receiving the building permit. All he has done is continuous asked for more money and the project has only had delays after delays. We agreed to pay more and even at current market rate and more so we wouldn't have to go through lawyers and waste more time. Well 18 months after receiving the building permit, here we are today and he has abandoned the job even after paying him 100% of the fixed price contract and an extra $112,000 on top. We trusted him and didn't hold back 10% in conjunction with Builders Lien Act and now we have liens, unpaid unhappy trades and a house that we now have to put out more money to finish. His trades are no good, nothing is done to code, there are major deficencies that needs to be addressed and even the home warranty is awaiting Bill Dhillion's response in this matter. The new electrician we hired believes there was some sort of sobotage with the electricals in the home. There is so many more things that just keep coming up.
Please do yourself a favour and do excessive amount of research when choosing a builder and get lots of past testimonials directly from their "happy clients", if there is any. I have had lawyers and other of his past clients tell me after that this is not the first time Bill Dhillion has done this to his clients. Save yourself the agony, trouble, money and headache and choose someone who is reputable.
I have the same testimonial issue with SKD constructions LtD, they abandoned my house construction and Mr. Dhillion is harassing me to collect more money, in fact I overpaid them accdg to the contract they are charging me for so many surprises bills that is not included from contract like “ foundation, asbestos removal etc. It’s overwhelming and so stressful they are super behind building from what was written in the contract laneway house is not even started, Now I’m consulting a lawyer. Hoping we can gather all the homeowners who have the same issue with me.
