Sirius XM Radio Inc. Reviews

After purchasing an audio system that was installed in my truck. Sirius XM radio told me that I must keep my truck parked at home and I cannot travel while listening to the radio. It's useless, then why don't they tell you this? When they install it at the car shop? it is a useless service....

in Russia. They don't have these issues. You can drive and listen to your music.

Best presented from the email itself. I have called the company directly and have been assured three times that the trial has been canceled with no charges and yet continue to receive "this is not a promotional email" messages. This started when I bought a used car from a dealer. This is complete fraud. I do NOT have an account with Sirius and I have called now 3 times and been assured it will just "go away" at the end of the trial. The tone of this is threatening.

They claim that you get a free echo dot with a subscription and code won't work

  • Jul 9, 2020

I have been with Sirius XM for many years. Recently, they sent me a promotion to receive a new (3rd gen) echo dot for $10.00, along with a link, instructions and a promo code. Following the link and instructions I entered the code to find out it was invalid. When I contacted Sirius, they professed to knowing nothing about it, but did try to sell me an upgraded package. I finally agreed and they would send me a new code...that was also invalid.

Incesnsed, I called Sirius again, and after a while, was finally transferred to a supervisor, Yvonne. She apologized again and said that if I got a different package, they would give me two free echo dots. Once again, idiot that I am, I fell for it a second time. Once again, they gave me promo codes, both worthless.

You would think that after years of service they would treat me better than crap. You would think that, but...no. I don't know what good this post will do as I see that Sirius has multiple complaints over the years. I guess that's what happens when you're lying theives.

Sirrius radio refuses to acknowledge a cancellation. Refuses to cancel. refuses to cancel. Why do you need MORE?????????????? ????????

  • Mar 14, 2019

In 2017 i was having trouble with reception, drop out on my siriusxm car radio, replaced antenna etc so i phoned to cancel. they offered me a new radio instead. the new radio had the same problems and they also raised the price of subscription to double.

i phoned and cancelled my subscription after having to be very firm with them that i did not want their service anymore, and i could get spotify for half the price. they assured me that it was cancelled, i tried the radio in my truck and could only get the demo station, so i knew it was off.march 14 2019 i get my visa bill with a charge of $260.77 to siriusxm radio.

i called them with the usual long wait time and transfers to various dept. of coarse they had no record of it being cancelled. i had to keep cutting off his sales pitch, and he says i never cancelled it. i told him i remember doing it, and i knew it was a practice that i knew they were doing, i started reading other complaints to him i found on the internet, and demanded a full refund. he agreed to cancel and return my money in 3 business days, and gave me a cancelation number.i asked him if he had my email still and he said he did. so i asked him to email me the cancellation with confirmation of the refund .

he sent me the cancellation with no mention of the pending refund. if you have used a credit card to pay for siriusxm..and you cancel your subscription, i would recomend you call your credit card company and report it lost. they will issue you a new card with new number so siriusxm cant access it. if i do get the refund next week i will update this.though i doubt i am going to get my money back without a fight. i also believe i was charged last year as well and didnt notice it.

i did like the programming and the radio when it worked properly.its too bad they are wrecking what could be a good company.

I had a trial subscription to the SiruisXM service which I allowed to expire because my wife and I decided it wasn't worth the money. I got multiple emails from the company trying to get me to reactivate. On Friday 1/11/19 I got a call from a rep that said my radio had been reactivated and I could pay $20.00 for 4 months of service.

All I had to do was enter a code after I paid the invoice and everything would be good to go. He was particularly aggressive and almost insisted I give him a credit card number they could charge right then. I wasn't in a position where I could comply and requested they send all information to my email address which they did.

On that same day or perhaps on Saturday I received an email from the company saying I could get 3 years of service for $99. That sounded like a better deal so I tried to register for that by clicking a link in the email. When I did it said I wasn't eligible because the radio was already activated. I emailed their customer service and explaining it appeared a bit disingenuous for them to activate my radio an then send the offer for a rate I couldn't get because it was active.

I got back what appeared to be basically a form mail that said they weren't authorized to determine or give rates. Thinking I was dealing with an actual customer service representative I sent another email explaining the real issue wasn't primarily rates but the fact that THEY had activated my radio without me knowing about it and THEN sent the offer for a better rate knowing I couldn't use it.

Got basically the same email reply as before. It seemed to me they knew the special $99 rate was coming and made the call to prevent me taking advantage of it. And, of course, customer service appears to be more customer disservice. Absolutely no care for the customer and no resolution.

My monthly subscription fee I signed up for was 6.00/month. back in 2012... I never approved any other rate. for the first year they charged me the correct rate. Yesterday April 4, 2018 (5 years later) I sold my car and needed to cancel my subscription and that's when I found out for over 5 years they have been billing me at a rate that was 3X more than what I had agreed to. When I challenged them on my rate they said it was in the small print. I let them know I signed up over the phone and never received an actual contract. She said I should have looked on the website. Not sure I will ever get my money back but all I can say is these guys are scammers BEWARE!

  • Mar 9, 2018

IN FEB. 2017 I PAID FOR A 6 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION FOR XM RADIO, IN AUGUST 2017 MY SERVICE WAS DISCONNECTED AUTOMATICALLY. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I CALLED TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY OTHER PROMOTIONS AND WHAT IT WOULD COST TO RENEW, I WAS TOLD IT WAS 120.00 PER YEAR AND I DECLINED. I NEVER HAD AN ON LINE ACCOUNT BECAUSE MY TRUCK CAME WITH A FREE YEAR OF XM AND I ONLY DID A 6 MONTH PROMO AFTER MY YEAR. I HAD NO NEED TO HAVE AN ACCOUNT. TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY THAT SIRIUS XM TURNED ME INTO COLLECTIONS FOR 61.88. NATURALLY I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A BREEXE TO RESOLVE SINCE I CLEARLY HAD NO SERVICE SINCE AUGUST AND I ONLY DID A 6 MONTH PROMO...WRONG!! TWO HOURS ON THE PHONE IN GUATEMALA, 2 REPS TELLING ME THEY AGREE I ONLY HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS, ONLY THEN TO BE TOLD THEY ZERO'D MY ACCOUNT AND I WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE COLLECTION COMPANY AND REMOVE MYSELF!! REALLY? WHO EVEN SAYS THAT?? REMOVE MYSELF... I LOST IT..I DEMANDED ANOTHER SUPERVISOR AND HE SAYS THAT I HAD IT A YEAR AND I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT AND I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE, BILL OR CALL SAYING I OWED ANYTHING AFTER MY XM RADIO WAS DISCONNECTED AUTOMATICLLY. THEY KEPT ASKING IF I CALLED TO CANCE..UUUMMM NO BECAUSE IT WAS SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY!!

I CAN NOT GET A RESOLUTION, I AM BASICLY IN COLLECTIONS FOR A SERVICE I DID NOT RECEIVE. I NEVER AGREED TO ANY AUTO RENEWAL THEY ARE SAYING I DID. THIS IS WHY I JUMPED ON THE PROMO BECAUSE IT WAS AFFORDABLE...I WENT WITH PANDORA FOR 5 DOLLARS A MONTH AND WIND UP IN THIS MESS FOR NOTHING, SITTING ON MY CREDIT RUINING IT BECAUSE THEY FRAUDUENTLY CHARGED ME. I SAW MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON HERE EXACTLY LIKE MINE AND I WILL NEVER USE SIRIUS XM AGAIN AND WILL ADVISE EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO EITHER... I WANT MORE INFORMATION ON ANY CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS FOR THIS I WOULD LIKE TO BE CONTACTED. @GMAIL.COM. IT SICKENS ME THESE COMPANIES GET AWAY WITH SUCH FRAUD AND RUIN CREDIT DOING IT!!

I received 6 months Sirius radio satellite service when I purchased my car in 2016. I called Sirius twice to renew, each for 6 month periods. I let the 2nd renewal (due 4/2017) lapse until July 2017 and called Sirius to renew for 6 more months. Their agent did renew me for 6 months but made 3 months retroactive to April 2017. Then the service quit working December 26th so I called Sirius today to get help and was informed that my checking account was sutomatically charged October 3, 2017 for only 3 months and the fee is now due again. I never agreed to be charged retroactively for 3 months and never agreed to have my checking account automatically charged. This account is rarely used so I missed the automatic charge in October.

  • Dec 14, 2017

I bought a new car last year and it came with 6 months of Sirius radio. When the 6 months were up I renewed for one year at a special rate. On December 8th my contract was over and I was waiting for them to contact me to renew. They did not contact me. Rather, they withdrew $306 out of my checking account. It took several hours on the phone with a representative that did not speak very good English. She did not know why they took that much money out of my account. The cost for one year is $99, not $306. Two days later they refunded my money. If I did not check my account every day this could have slid by. They never had any authorization to renew or take my money outside of my initial year.

Be careful - if you renew your service tell them you do not authorize them to auto renew (and watch out when your renew date comes).

Purchased new Dodge Charger 25 Sept.2016. Got 1 year free Sirius/xm radio. On Friday 22 September 2017 I called Sirius/cmon to change it to a lifetime subscription since we had 1 left to use. Today we were in the car and the radio went back to channel 0 or 1 preview channel. After better than 2 hours on the phone they gave the lifetime subscription to another radio. NOT OURS! They would have to send a refresh to the car radio. Instead of trying to find last Friday activities they sent ownership department I think. They are supposed to get back with me in 7 to 10 Bussiness days. Had to buy another subscription for 6 months just to get satellite radio.. they were too lazy to mak anything happen. Lazy Lazy Lazy. I'm glad none of these people don't work for me, if they had and I had to correct the problem. They would have all been FIRED!

Heads up, friends and neighbors. On Tuesday, SiriusXM took an unauthorized $218.55 from my bank account and I am now overdrawn. After and hour and a half of being transferred to 5(!) different non-English reps, I finally got an email promising a refund within 3-5 business days. If you enjoy Sirius and you want to keep it, I suggest using a Visa gift card to pay them. DO NOT let them have access to your bank account or credit cards! My contract is due to be renewed on October 1st, but I will cancel my service with this fraudulent company on September 30. Will I miss it? Sure, I've had XM for over three years, but I refuse to do business with them ever again. There are so many other options for music enjoyment, after all. Thank you for listening. Signed, Holly Till

Sirius XM Radio is the biggest music ripoff on the air ! First of all, they are hurting for sunscribers big time. They don't have the customers they used to have 10 years ago. With the advent of smart phones and computers, people can get free radio stations everywhere, and tailor them to exactly what they want, such as Iheart radio. This company charges ridiculous fees for monthly service, as if you have no other choice. They try to get your credit card number so they can automatically bill you for whatever they want. Then when you call them, you get an idiot on the phone who can never make decisions on their own. They constantlly put you on hold, while they speak to a supervisor on how they can rip you off. It's like being at a car dealership, with the salesman going back and forth to his manager, playing the good guy band guy routine, all designed to charge you the highest price possible. I started with this company a few years ago, basically because my Kia came with the satelite radio, and a free 3 month subscription. That's how they hook you in. You get used to it, and then they shut it off after 3 months, hoping you will call them to set up an account. They already have an account for you, the dealership gives your name to them. They just don't have a way to bill you yet. When you decide to cancel, they start transferring you to a different set of idiots, who try everything in their power to keep you as a customer. When you balk at the price, they start the lets make a deal game, just like at a car dealership. ( And we all know that car salesmen are one of the lowest forms of life around.) So this company gets you to renew your subscription, at a lower price, and as soon as that ending date comes, they start billing you at the higher rate for a new period, without your authorization. By the time you notice this, you are already into another billing cycle, and you owe them money, at a higher rate, as of the day your last deal ended. Even when you tell them not to automatically bill you, and send you a bill, they bill you anyway. I took their promotion for 5 or 6 months for a nice low rate. They require you to give them your credit card number. That's where you have to put the breaks on them and not give it. They claim you can cancel at any time. That's bs, because they will not refund your money, and they will keep charging your credit card until you change the number on it. That's a major hassle for people, for now you have to contact a dozen or more companies to change your automatic payments or recurring charges. Not bringing up my past arguments with them, I'll just tell you the last incident, and why I canclled them for good. On 2-1-2017, I called to cancel a previous 5 month promotion. As usual, the game started of them switching me to a rep. that would keep me as a customer and play lets make a deal with me for the next 5 months. After haggling with this con artist, he promised me a 5 month contract, at a set price of exactley $ 32.24, which was supposed to end on 7-1-2017. I told them to send me a bill in the mail, and I would pay it, but never to automatically bill me. They had my credit card number, because that is what I used to pay them the previous times. But as soon as they started to automatcially bill me, I gave them strict instructions to never automatically bill me again. On 3-25-2017, I received a bill in the mail for $64.16, which was supposed to be for services from 3-20 to 6-20-17 ! When I looked at my recent VISA bill, I saw another charge of $43.29, dated 2-11- 2017 ! They never sent me that bill for $32.24, then they over charged me for $11.05 in Feb. Now they are billing me again for $64.16 ! On 3-27-2017, I called these theives, and complained. The idiot I spoke with put me on hold 4 times, I was waiting over a half hour while he was discussing this with his manager. Every time he got back on he tried to continue to break their agreement with me, over charging me, and wanting to extend my contract with them. Finally I went off on him and told him to cancel my contract, I had enough of his bs. He just said OK and hung up. Then I called my Visa and reported them for fraud. I disputed the charge. I only owe them for 2 months service, or $ 6.44 x 2 = $12.88. They owe me $43.29 - $12.88 = $30.41. And now here's the final insult - on that day, they send me an email telling me they cancelled my account, and now I owe them $ 6.99 for the bogus $ 64.16 current bill ! The ripoff continues, even after you cancel with them ! This company is only good if money id no object to you. If you don't mind giving them hundreds of dollars a year to have their satelite radio in you car or home, let let them rip you off. Their service is a dying relic of the past, and they are getting ruthless in over charging, charging without authorization, and outright fraud. Don't get involed with them. And if you do, do not give them your credit card number, pay them by check only, that way they can't bill the hell out of you.

Like many, many other XM Sirius radio listeners, this service is getting worse. I live in Kansas City and over the last 4-6 months the signal drops out completely, or will sound like an alien that you can't understand. I have a factory installed radio that worked falsely until 4-6 months ago. It can be clear skies and no obstacles, and the signal will just drop out. I replaced the factory antenna at my cost, but made no difference. It is extremely frustrating as you can't even listen to a complete song, or news cast. I have heard there is some kind of interference with T-mobile cell sites, that has been addressed, however T-mobile says it is XM Sirius fault, and XM Sirius claims it is T-mobile's fault. As you can imagine this is going no where fast. I have had my service for over 10 years but will not renew my service when due. When I have contacted customer service (more like customer no-service) they are unconcerned, and only interested in upgrading your service. Each time you call you will contact an off shore call center (India), then you have to demand to speak to customer service agent in the US. As a matter of fact I am thinking of filing a class action lawsuit, as the company is charging and promoting a service which they can't deliver. I would be interested in hearing from other customers about joining a class action.

I have had SiriusXM for over 9 years & 6 months ago only 2 channels fade in & out Howard 100 & Howard 101. All the other channels come in perfectly with the exception of 2. The two that fade in and out are part of a primium package that is an extra charge for certain channels. Out of the primium channels only 2 fade in & out H100 & H101, the others work perfectly. I called several times, took my car in for antenna & radio inspection & in excellent condition. Called a few times after that to get the same answer they can refresh the signal & that's about it. I also have it on my cell phone & the same exact thing happens on my old Apple IPhone 6plus & now on my new IPhone 7 plus. I keep getting people in the philippens and never anyone in the USA to help me. The last SiriusXM person I spoke with told me I should contact the channel owner to get further assistance I asked who that would be and she told me on speaker phone in front of my co workers Howard Stern because their his channels that they have nothing to do with that. ??? Really are you kidding me. I then asked her if she realized what she had said and she repeated it again, verbatim. I only signed up for SiriusXM for those 2 channels. She told me that was all she could do and that was it. My co workers were puzzled by her response. I had them listen because I've had the same response on previous calls, I was just hoping I'd get someone in the States to help with this. I'm not asking for money back on taking my car in I just want this issue resolved so I can continue listening without fading in & out. It doesn't make sense why only 2 channels fade in and out when the others work perfectly fine.

We have been dealing with this for the last six months. My Wife opened an account with Sirius because she bought a new car that had a satellite radio built in and she wanted to try it out. She was having problems with the radio cutting in and out so she called to see if they had an antenna or maybe a signal booster to help with the reception since we live in an area with alot of trees and this causes the cutting out problem. They told her they had an antenna for $8.72 and so she approved them to send it to her. Well they sent her a radio and charged us $35! This did not sit well with her so she called and cancelled the account with Sirius and had them give us our $35 back.

They say they are "sorry for the mix up" & "we will get that right back to you" and they did send the money back that time. Well not even a month goes by, they charge us again. My wife calls them again and tells them to give our money back and make sure you put in your computer that they do not have permission to take any money out of our account. They put the money back into our account and assured us that all our card info has been deleted and it wont happen again. Well tonight I download my debits into Quicken and guess who decided to charge us AGAIN? That's right SIRIUS XM !!!

They took $40.17 out of our account on 10-21-16 when they were told to cease and desist. This is the last straw. Tomorrow we are going to the bank and have them charge back the 40.17, we are cancelling the card the wife used to open that infernal account with SATAN's XM radio. Sirius can deal with the bank ! You can bet they will not be as nice as we have been. We are also contacting our attorney and see if there is any way to pursue litigation against this kind of unlawful behavior. This is the THIRD time this has happened. This is NO mistake. They are doing this ON PURPOSE. It's time to make an example out of unscrupulous companies who think they can STEAL money from people !

We've happily subscribed to SiriusXM through our past six cars. However, we're retired now and don't drive very much so when their automatic renewal notice arrived I called SiriusXM and specifically told them to cancel. Since then I've been getting bills but I ignored them and our service ended about a month ago.

Now I'm getting bills from a collection agency saying that SiriusXM turned our "overdue account" over to them! I called SiriusXM and demanded that they correct the problem. The first person I spoke with said she'd turn me over to her supervisor. Then she came back to say her supervisor wouldn't talk to me; instead I should call an 877 number. I asked repeatedly who was at that number but her only answer was that she didn't know. I called but their message said to call during business hours (it was 2:30 in the afternoon EDT).

So I called SiriusXM again. After telling him the date, exact time and the name of the person I spoke with to cancel our service, he admitted that their records show my call but said the cancellation was never processed. Hmmm. If that was true, then why did our service stop working? He said he was going to "escalate" the problem and assured me that (a) our credit hasn't been damaged and (b) our account is cancelled and our balance is zero so I can safely ignore all current and future bills.

I may be wrong but my guess is that this was all a sham to scare an established customer back into the SiriusXM fold. We won't be accepting any more new car "satellite radio free trials." Buyer beware!

  • Jun 14, 2016

BUYER BEWARE!!! SERIUS XM RADIO just charged my account 6 times and we don't even have their service!! WHAT A SCAM! !! AVOID THIS "service" AT ALL COSTS!! Their sorry excuse for "customer service" is giving us NO SATISFACTION claiming they do not see the charge happening when I am looking right at my bank account online at the 6 transactions. 6 TIMES $8.27 ALL ON THE SAME DAY AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE THEIR SERVICE!!!

  • Mar 9, 2016

While doing our taxes, I discovered that Sirius XM Satellite has been automatically taking 2 payments from my husband's credit card and he has not used the satellite service for almost 2 years. I contacted Sirius XM and explained that we were not notified, we were not sent a statement, not even an email indicating that charges were being drafted. I explained that we had not used the service in a couple of years, and was read a script about how they draft the money for our "convenience".

We did not authorize Sirius XM Satellite to draft money indefinately from our credit card to the tune of $363.60 per year, especially when we do not even have an XM radio in our posession. After bluntly explaining the situation, I was asked if I would like to transfer the service to a vehicle as though they did not even hear how upset I was over the situation. I asked to be refunded and was told that there would be no refund as it was my responsibility to check statements and call if I did not want them taking money from my credit card.

Reputable businesses do not draft indefinately from a person's credit card without confirming the person's intention to keep the service. We have a business, and would never consider taking money without someones permission.

Do not sign up for this service! It is a rip off!

  • Mar 2, 2016

SIRIUS Radio is billing me for services I do not have. On the phone, they tell me they owe me a refund - and they do. Yet I continue to receive "overdue statements" from them threatening to cancel their service that I cancelled long ago.

If there is an attorney out there that has a suit against tehse idiots going, I'd love to be included. I have lots of documentation.

  • Aug 28, 2015

I purchased a new vehicle almost a year ago and called Sirius XM to start my new service and cancel my old service on the vehicle traded in. I was told that the cancellation on my old car would credit to my new account (a years worth of service almost) when my free trial ran out. The person that setup my new account did not cancel the other service and left it on. Sirius is refusing to add the 10 months of service that ran out on the old vehicle to my new one. So their employee dropped the ball canceling and transfer the service and then George ID # 5468 refused to fix the error caused by one of his employees and told me he was the only manger that I could talk to and that he couldn't manually input a credit. I have three different radio subscriptions with Sirius and they would rather let me cancel all of them according to George than fix the error. I feel like they just stole $160 from me. They are losing a longtime loyal and multi radio customer. Also I was told by the rep tonight that who ever has my old card could have called in and renewed again on my credit card because Sirius left it attached to the old acount. Do not give your credit card information to this company it may not be safe and the practices are very questionable.
