I spoke with a man named Dee who told me they were located in Florida but they did do some business with "editing" etc., the websites with people from New York (Syracuse I think). Said they sent me an email and took 100% of the cost of the website (over $800) before the website was completed or went live. When I complained and wanted to speak with a Supervisor, I found out there was not one. I was told that Bob Hanson owned the company but there was no email for him, absolutely no contact. There seems to be only one web site managers "Amelia" that just keeps repeating their "Policy" and refuses to care about what Dee told me.
If I fire this company, Amelia said I will get a file with photo's in it. Mostly, they were my photo's from the website from Go Daddy, not ones that Simple Biz "gave" me. If I have to deal with Amelia, it's not going to work. Obviously she is not telling the truth about some man that goes by Bob Hanson. Now that I read other complaints here, I can see why no one can speak to Mr. Hanson, cuz he most likely does not exist. Neither does their office in Florida. So right now, they have me in for $800. What to do?
Started out on the phone speaking with a man representing himself as working from Sanford Florida. The man spoke in a folksy manner with a southern accent.I learned later that he is a front man,a salesman giving the New York city based company the perception of being located in central Florida. They are are shysters, classic used car salesman.Did not respond to edits after repeated requests.Turns out company of little or no value to paying customer.Run away befor wasting money and time with simple.biz
This company is one of the fakest I have ever run across. They claim to be local when calling you to solicit your business but that couldn't be farther from the truth. They use fake names as well. Bob Hansen isn't his real name. He has had other failed business opportunities so he has to go under a fake name. They also changed one of their employees names because he was convicted of raping a female employee and they wanted to keep him on board. No office location. If you don't believe then demand to meet with them in person before you purchase their services. They won't because they can't. They are all in other states using a click dialer to change their numbers to a local area code. Half of their payments have to be ran multiple times because banks reject the charges as fraud. Most of their phone numbers come up as a spam call as well.
Robert called seeking my business and introduced himself as a local web developer with offices in Louisville and Bowling Green. I asked and he told me that he had received the lead from my recent incorporation.
The services he described did not match my needs, because it would require the new site to be hosted on his servers perpetually, and that I would have to pay $99/month for hosting, unlimited editing, etc, etc.
My business model calls for eventually self hosting, but in the interim the Corp has an account with Blue Host where we already have several websites and plans for an additional 48 social sites.
I told him because of that it was a non-starter, but asked if he would build the site, upload it to our Blue Host account and offer the same editing services I could go the $99/month.,
All went well until they delivered the rough website and began charging the hosting fee. After I sent in the changes as agreed they just stopped work. .... but continued charging the $99.
After several emails, Karen of accounting offered to send the files to me without completing the site. I've refused, because the site's already paid for.
Is there anyone out there that can use my situation to bring him and them to justice? Is there anyone out ther that would like to file a class action law suit?
