This On-line Auction House is doing what they can to embellish and even mislead e-bidders in the auctioning Gold and Silver collectable coins. The following is what I have experienced.
Coins that I have purchased have been valued on the site higher than the coin realized later. This was due to a lower quality evaluated by PCGS than the site promised. This lower quality evaluation was determined by PCGS as being a colored coin;exp: browning of a copper coin, Cleaning with a dipping process or by hand rubbing and manipulating values by creating their own Coin Grading Company that is uncertified and then grading sometimes significantly higher than PCGS and PCG actually evaluates the coin. Finally, they put estimated values on the coins in the description somewhere to influence bidding.
I believe the other complaint whereby the actual auction is contrived to take advantage of competing maximum bid bidders against themselves. When I used the maximum feature I found that I ironically paid what I had at a maximum except when I watched the bidding live after making a maximum bid. I quit using that feature after that experience.
I quit using on line bidding for coins entirely because of this auction house and similar tactics at other houses.
