I started to lease Nissan Juke SV 2013 from Sid Dillon on September 21/2013 for 39 months lease. I was planning to do lease to own. Just less than 4 months into lease I saw 3 lights came on. They were AWD, ABS, and traction control signs. I brought my car into the repair shop at Sid Dillon. They told me I have a rodent chewing on wires. I ask them for repair, but they said warranty does not cover natural disaster. Although they could not find a single hair, nesting glasses nor dead body of animal to prove, they insisted it is animal doing and they will not cover the damage repair cost. Thus I had to use my insurance to repair. It cost around $24-2500 and I paid $500 deductible.
Two weeks after I got my car back from the shop, same thing happened. Same wires are completely cut off from both ends, and same three lamps are on again. I took the car back to the shop and they said again it is the animal and again I had to pay for he repair. I told them I cannot fix this car every 2 weeks. So did not fix this problem at this time. Next June of 2014, I parked my car at long term parking lot on south side of Omaha airport, the budget parking I think and went back to see my family in Japan for 2 weeks. When I came back I found out my car was hailed and flooded, so took my car to the Sid Dillon to fix them. I told my insurance company at that time, Farmers Mutural, of hail and flood.
At the body shop, I again mentioned of hail and flood on my car. This time the reapir took more than 3 weeks and cost more than $9000. Again I had to pay$500 deductible. Because Sid Dillon said the warranty does not cover for natural disasters. I assumed my insurance company and Sid Dillon took care of all of the problems except three lamps on my dashboard. Since I had soaking wet carpet with moldy smell to indicate there was water in this car when I brought in. It was all dry and clean when I picked up. However I found out I was wrong to trust this company 2 years later when I had to fix another hail damage and the electric issues with 3 lamps on recently.
Since my lease is up this December, to return or trade my car in for others, I had to repair minor hail damage from this May and the issues I had for 2 years. I did not fix the electric issues because I was afraid it will happen again. So at he end getting closer I used my insurance to fix them. 1 week later 10/10/16 I got call from insurance company and Sid Dillon telling me they fixed everything except one of the lamp is still on. They told me water damage caused corrosion on sensor under body so causing AWD switch not working. It will cost more than $4000 to repair. My insurance, Traveler said we did not claim for this so they will not pay for it, and they backed out. I asked Sid Dillon why did they not found this issue 2 years ago when I asked them to repair. They said the claim was only for the hail damage and they cannot do anything other than what claimed for. THey told me to contact my old insurance company to mend this issue.
I did call them but they said they will not do anything. I wrote letter to explain how insurance agent did not listen to my concern well enough to take care of the problems but no answer from them so far. I have been talking to my coworkers and friends and they all agree on Sid Dillon is making me pay for everything, they think I am a "money cow" and squeezing for every penny for this defective car. I picked up my car last Tuesday, this time, I had to pay $500 for hail damage and around $250 for wire issues. All together it cost little less than $3000. At this time, I asked why hail damage repair costed so much since I know the parts were not changed and what they did was " massage and smoothed out" to pop out dented areas. My coworker told me she only paid $100 or less for her hail repair at different place. Sid Dillon said it take lot of labor to do it. But I don't believe they are telling me the truth. I have not fixed the corrosion issue they are talking of, I told them I do not trust you guys so will not pay another penny for it here.
I believe this car has defective wires but they don't agree of course. They cannot find proof that was animal causing issues but they kept oninsistint it was natural disaster. Last three years have been pure hell for me. I trusted this brand new car, which will not give me any headaches for few years at least. Instead, it brought me nothing but problems and bad omen. And I think and believe now that Sid Dillon discriminated me because I am a women and have accent. My coworkers told me to bring a man with me so they will take better care of this situation. I really am disgusted with this part the most. Is it really us women have to have a man on our side to deal with anything of car issues so that we will be treated as equal? I really need legal advise on this. I am willing to take this as women's right issues as well.
