I was an early adaptor for this company, having purchased a "lifetime license" in 2011. When they came out with version 7, they called it something different and told me that my lifetime license would only work for version 6, which was being discontinued. Well, the product continued in the form of version 7 and their subscription model.
They could have had just A SMALL BIT OF INTEGRITY and kept their promise to "lifetime" customers, but they gave into greed over honesty. And you'd really hope that this kind of company would be honest... expecially if you're going to trust them with your passwords.
To be completely transparent here, I'm still using their product because I liked it. But even after all these years I'm still pissed at the way they treated me - so I'm happily writing a complaint.
I purchased an annual license from Siber Systems on Aug. 27, 2015 to have Roboform save my username and password information fow websites requiring this information.
During the latter part of October 2015, I suffered a hard drive failure on my laptop that required me to purchase a new hard drive. As a result, I had to reload all of my Windows files and old software programs to start over.
However, when I reloaded my Roboform software and tried to activate it, I received a message that said this activation exceeded the number of activations provided under this license. There was no other option available that was offered on the screen, no contact information, nothing, except for a button to purchase a new license.
It is Nov. 13, 2015 as of today's writing, and it has been 78 days since I purchased my annual (supposedly good for 365 days) license.
I have been a customer of this company for more than 3 years, and they had a fairly good product that made my life simpler. But today they lost a customer for life based on their foolhardy way of conducting business and gouging their customers.
