I was ripped off and charged after canceling a reservation. A huge error by company and when contacted they refused to correct the error and refund my credit card.
I made the reservation by telephone on a Sunday for a shared ride to the airport the next Wednesday. When I received the email confirmation that day I was surprised to see the wrong date and a 24 hour cancelation policy that they never told me about when I made the reservation. I no longer trusted the company their ability pick me up at the designated time and date so I called the same Sunday and canceled the reservation. The following Monday I checked my email inbox and found no confirmation of the cancelation so, I called to find out if the cancelation was completed. It seemed as though the transaction had not been completed. I still never received an email confirmation of the transaction.
A week later I found a charge on my credit card from Shuttle Express. I called shuttle express a week later to remove the charge and was told that they would not refund the charge because it did not meet the 24 hour cancelation requirement.
When I made the first call to cancel on Sunday it was 3 days from the departure date. When I called the second time on a Monday it was still 2 days from the departure date with the exeption being the reservation was incorrect and they had the departure date as the following day. They claimed the 24 hour cancellation policy was not. met.
The agent gave me the name of the agent that took my call for the first cancelation on Sunday but later denied that I had called on Sunday.
The bottom line is, I canceled the reservation in a resonable amount of time and it did meet the 24 hour requirement.
