I purchased a Samsung 55" LED Smart TV - 4K UltraHD from these people on January 26, 2016. I was also given the run around about it not being the "USA" model. So, of course, I got cornered into paying more for the "USA" model.
The paperwork clearly states that it has a 5 Year In Home Warranty.
Well, the TV lasted exactly 4 years to the day. I have been trying to call customer service. They never answer. I stayed on hold for more than an hour. Their website says to email them, however, there is no email given.
It is clear they have no intention of answering my call and certainly no intention of making good on the warranty. Their website says customer service is #1. What a joke!
It is clear why they are not registered with the BBB.
This company is a total scam. Placed a order online. Did not hear anything back for few days. Called the number on the email to get a run around. Finally was transfered to sales rep. He procceeded to tell me that the TV i ordered is a international model and it is discontinued. He said he had this year's model in stock. I then asked why is it still advertising on your website 3 days later, now? He tried to play it off by saying it must be an error. So to my curiosity to see how far they will go with this, he tells me he can send me 2015 model for $1100 more then what I originally paid for. I refused. Then he said he can give me a $300 discount. Still did not want to pay that much for a TV when I can go to local store and pick it up cheper. He then tells me it was lower then best buy. So I went on best buy site and it was much lower then what he wants me to pay. By then I had enough. I asked him to cancel my order. He asked the reason and so I explained. He did not have much to say except you don't have to pay tax. Really??? He said he will cancel my order and send me his contact info if I change my mind.
I hung up. Still waiting for my cancellation confirmaiton and refund. Checked with my credit card company and nothing still. So I let them know of this fraud. They have a alart on my card on this vendor. I hope that was the end of this scam....
It seems that what they advertize is the US version of a product, but tell you the price is only for the non-US ( AU) version of product. They then try to convince you that there are 2 products with the same sku or model number and to get the version you wanted originally, you have to pay Much more money.
If you say that you want the "AU" version, you have to wait 2-3 weeks and they will then add on more charges for shipping. Also, there is no available warantee.
My order was for a LG 65EG9600 TV.
I PLAN TO NOTIFY THE PROPER AUTHORITIES SINCE THIS IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL.
Ordered a Samsung TV for $1049 with free shipping.
Mark phoned me a day later and said TV was an import model and apps would not work, no mfg warranty and no firmware update. (Website does not indicate any such deficiencies for this set.) Said he could ship USA model for $1199.
I ordered an LG 55LF6100 on September 6. The price was $50.00 less than Amazon. On Sunday 9/6 I received a call from Martin. He informed me that I had ordered the "Commercial Model" and that there was a different model for home use with a better warranty. He said that the commerical model was inferior and used a poorer quality display. He also stated that it was on the Website - and of course it was not.
He offered me the same model number TV "for home use" at $90.00 more. I told him I was not interested in being upsold and that I wanted to cancel the order. He explained - in a concerned voice - that he was "Helping" me and that he didn't want me to purchase an inferior product for my home. I told him to cancel the order. He gave me his phone number - 877-409-4220 in case I reconsidered. What a ripoff company. I will stick with Amazon.
I ordered a Sharp LC70UD27U - 70" LED Smart TV - 4K UHDTV (2160p)TV from Shopsmarttvs.com on 07/24/2015 for $1649.99. The standard asking price is $2499.99 so this seemed like a good deal, until they called 2 days later to let me know I probably didn't realize I accidently bought the commercial use international version of the TV. They told me it was no big deal and they would send the one I thought I was getting originally for an additional $600 (with free shipping and free wall mounts which I was already getting for my original order). His thing was the American version superior parts and displays as well as a longer warranty from Sharp. When I asked questions about if the international version would work and where any of this info was on the web page I made the purchase on, he assured me it would work and my skepticism got me a new lower price which continued to drop to $1,999. I still said no I'll take what I ordered at the price I ordered it at. So now it's almost two weeks later and they've still not processed my order, they wanted to make sure I had time to think about it before they sent the commercial TV out, even after I gave them a definitive answer already. At this point I suspect It's never possible to get the item that is ordered at the price it's advertised at. I've looked into similar reviews from other customers and they all had the same thing (although some people say that the model they ordered was discontinued or is on back order, but are still asked to spend several hundred more). They told me my order was being processed, to allow about 3 days and it would ship, now it's two weeks from my original order and my tracking number (which said in progress) is now gone like it never existed. I haven't bothered to call and ask them why because i can use my imagination as to what they'll say but I am sure my original order and it's price isn't going to happen. As a side note i looked into what is and isn't legal as far as bait and switch stragities go and this falls on the illegal side from what i could find (my order for the original deal was canceled on their end because i refused to pay more). I am also conserned that they have and could be selling my info. Thanks in advance.
