A TV ad shows a person donning glasses and then changing the prescription on each lens by adjusting a screw on the side of each lens until you see clearly out of each lens. Does not work at all. Very cheaply made. All you can see through lenses are very blurred images. Company (Shopif.com) is located in Canada but return mail address is in China (and they have a phone number that is not connected. The return address reads: DaiBo, SGJ-YD No. 3 YUNXIAO Road, GuangZhouShi GUANGDONG 510000, CHINA. try returning something to that.
It is hard to find their contact information and what they also do, they send you something cheap and then tell you that your purchase was delivered! Great Scam!
We spent 5-6 months invested into Shopify which cost us $25,000 we have 2 store retail and wholesale each store had to be manually created because Shopify didn't provide any kind of migration support and their 3rd party application were of no use which we also wasted time and money on.
Took us almost 3 months to get our retail store up and running and actually processing orders, during that time we were also working on our wholesale store, which we also had to create manually and do the migration manually. We chose Shopify to process payments for us because we just thought that would work better more direct and convenient. Finally 2 months after launching our retail store we opened our second Shopify store for our wholesale customers to place their orders.
We are a baby company we make baby blankets and a lot of our wholesale customers are older and are not able to place online by themselves we assistance them with placing their orders from start to finish as they are used to just calling in and placing an order over the phone which we have been doing for 17 years, we were not aware Shopify would consider that as fraud, as our customers approved and authorize all the transactions.
Once Shopify notified us of the issue and didn't even give us a chance to fix this matter, the held on to all our money for all our orders for our wholesale store and refunded it to our customers even though orders had already been shipped and delivered to them, 2 days later the did the same thing to our retail store even though those order the customers DID place themself they categorized us as a "HIGH RISK" customer and all our hard work and income all just vanished within 3 days and they didn't return absolutely anything to us, we invested so much time money and invested in their platform and loss of money from the orders that had been refunded BY Them without our authorization.
We begged Shopify to let us continue business with our retail account because we just had invested so much money and time into Shopify, I had a nervous break down I cried to them over the phone to please reconsider their unethical actions. I couldn't believe all my hard work was not even up for discussion with them acting ruthlessly and aggressively to put My Blankee Inc out of business by not giving us back any of our intellectual property back. They locked us out of the account we couldn't even retrieve any reports for any of our sales for tax purposes. Thank god we kept our previous website and host in the background and backup just in case something went wrong, If we wouldn’t have had our host and website from Magento Shopify would have put My Blankee Inc out of business. I highly recommend NOT USING SHOPIFY, if you are using Shopify or plan on using Shopify do not use their credit card processing service as you can use your own local merchant bank, I also recommend not using their shipping services and use ShipStation as they are a reputable company.
Chanyeyuan Chengdu shuangliu district customs clearance MyShopify Stores under different names
Purchased wicker and tools and storage from a MyShopify store that advertised on FACEBOOK. Lost approx $450.00
They used a Portland Oregon Convenience Store to clear the credit cards.
I have been receiving from china tiny pick brushes saying stainless steel Cleaning Brush and stated weather wicker sofa sectional and lithium-ion cordless tools enclosed. The package is approx 6x6 inches
BEWARE... IDENTITY THEFT ...
Approx 1 month afterward I started receiving calls from different people. Apparently they opened up another store using my address and phone number. At first, I thought it was spam calls then I talked with one and found out what was happening. I called all the people back to warn them...
I contacted Myshopify.com FBI Google and the Canadian Mounted Police.
Here is what they did. I investigated...
They opened up a store with Myshopify.com All they need to do is register a domain name. Their store name becomes NEWNAME.myshopify.com Myshopify provides the website tools and products. They use their own credit card clearing.
People buy from them and they close up the store and open another Hell they could be operating several or even 100. I would think they want to fly under the radar. My guess is they use products that appeal greatly to people using cookies on your computer. You might have gone a store to look at prom dresses and they pick that info up and follow you around the internet until you open their site and buy.
From my situation, they used a third party domain registration company to register their name and that removed them many folds from being caught. That third party company is in Canada.
I ordered 2 products from these companies through facebook and they are frauds
The products arrived after 1 month (after saying 3-5 business days)
When the items arrived they were completely different items to the pictures and video demos advertised, infact one electrical item did not even have the correct US plug after specifying it online during my transaction.
They have yet to response to my request for refund via telephoe and email.
The retailer I was buying from was based in Arizona. I made the purchase over the internet. The vendor was using Shopify as its retail platform. I was making the purchase in Illinois. The vendor did not have a physical presence in Illinois, yet I was charged Illinois State Tax on the item I was purchasing.
I was then charged County Tax. County Tax does not apply either. They added insult to injury by charging me Cook County Taxes. I live in Lake County.
All bad things come in threes. The third tax I was charged was Chicago Municipal Tax. I do not live in the City of Chicago. I live in the suburbs. I do not use Chicago Municipal Services at all, yet Shopify entered a charge for Chicago Municipal taxes.
Damage looks like this:
Illinois State Tax: $19.63
Cook County Tax: $8.64
Chicago Municipal Tax: $3.93
The vendor I purchased the item from (not Shopify) informed me that if I return the item I purchased, I will have to pay a 15% restocking fee. The charge, in this particular case, will be $15.35. I have 5 days to get send it to them or YHWH knows what happens after the 5th day.
The vendor said that they would try to get the taxes removed from the bill, contacted me later and said that they were not suceessful in getting the taxes removed but would allow me the amount in taxes as credit for more merchandise.
I did not find anything I needed in their inventory. I politely refused their generous offer. I am going to return the item, take the refund, and accept the restocking fee as a lesson learned.
I just wanted to inform everyone that Shopify had charged me taxes that did not apply to the purchase and for everyone to tread carefully when dealing with them.
I might hear from them or the vendor later. I attempted to e-mail Shopify. I don't know if I was successful. They have an eccentric communication system, where they provide you fields to fill in but no e-mail address, persons who you are writing to, or exact physical location. They have not contacted me personally. Presumably the vendor got though to them (as I explained earlier in the explanation.
I wrote the State of Illinois and informed them about the taxes. Anyone familiar with how extravagantly this state spends our taxes would probably conclude that they aren't too concerned that extra taxes are being collected.
This is all I know at the time of this writing: 2/19@11:25PM CST
Our business, Big Bargains, opened a shopify account in October of 2017. After a 15-day trial, we were approved to sell online once our payment info was submitted for the monthly fee shopify charges to merchants. On November 9th, 2017, we were charged 29.99 to our company AMEX card to use shopify's monthly plan. Not once BEFORE we were charged did Shopify advise or warn us that that our website did not meet their listing requiremnts and that photo id verification was required to use their payment system. Had we been warned or advised BEFORE we were charged that our website violated shopify's terms of use, we would have modified our site before purchasing their plan. On November 10th, 2017 we received an customer order of $240 but Shopify refused to release the payout to us due to the fact that our site did not comply with their terms of use. Yet we were forced to refund the customer and we are out of $29.99 due to not being warned of the violations BEFORE Shopify charged our card. We have requested a full refund but Shopify has rejected a refund and won't allow us to use their service.
Shopify has commited the following horrific business practices:
1. Allowed us to register, design , and advertise our site using their templates despite Shopify being fully aware that our site violated their terms of use.
2. Charged our business AMEX card 29.99 for using their service despite not informing us BEFORE the charge that our site violated their terms of use.
3. Refused to send payout to our bank account for a customer order on Friday, November 11th, 2017.
4. Refused to refund our AMEX card ending in 5502 for services not provided, for blocking our account, and for allowing us to use their template knowing fully that our site violated their terms of use.
A complete sham of a company! I now know why small business are moving to self-hosted, self-designed websites on their own private services. Allowing companies like Shopify to do what they want to any business at whim is a disgrace to the entire ecommerce world.
I saw an add for a magnetic phone cable on Facebook. I purchased the cord. It was supposedly shipped from Canada by DHL, but once it reached the "destination country" (U. S.) no other tracking information was provided. I never received my charging cable.
Shopify took my online clothing store down for one missed payment of $29. They didn't even try to bill again. They took the entire store down and still charged me for the $29 plus another $29. So $54 for not even having the store up. Then I paid them and had the store back up and was fully paid and then they still took it down.
You can read other reviews on the net that say the same thing:
"My credit card charge wouldn't go through for one month so when it did finally I still had to pay $29 for the time my site was offline. Three days later I got another $29 for the current months store charge. I GOT NOTHING for the 3 or 4 months I had my online store. Shopify is USELESS and I believe it is a scam. The customer service agent didn't even try to keep me as a customer. What a complete rip off. Avoid shopify like the plague.
I was wondering why I wasn't getting any traffic or business, or nothing was happening with it. Now I get it from reading others stories too."
So my advice is to stay away from Shopify. They are in Canada with new offices in San Francisco and they are very rude to their customers. I would describe their attitudes as haughty, sarcastic, and subhuman. These are the coldest, dead-hearted people I've ever dealt with in the business world.
Two weeks ago I decided to open up an online store with Shopify. They advertise how easy it is to set up a shop and sell shirts that you design. So thats what I decided to do. I also set up some ebooks to sell through the online store.
Upon the 1st few days I had received a couple of purchases. When I recieved those purchases I also received a notification from Shopify. So before I sent out the products that were purchased I called up Shopify to make sure everything was okay. They said yes everything was okay and I can proceed with processing the order. They said the notification was because I had to verify my bank info and they just wanted additional info. So thats what I did. I sent out what the customer purchased.
The following day I recieved email from them stating they were putting my money on hold because my business present a level of risk for customer disputes. Which I find deceptive when they advertise about being able to open a shop selling shirts and on top of that I called before I sent out the products that were purchased just to make sure the payments were okay.
Now I am out of the products I sent and the money that is owed to me. They told me I would have to wait 90 days to get my money that is owed. They told me that I can refund the money and ask the customer to pay me another way. They should have said that before when I called them and before I sent out the products.
I kept complaining to them till they finally told me if I show proof of delivery I can get some of my money quicker. So I emailed receipts and documents of proof that I sent out the products. That was a lie because I never received any money after that.
All this could have simply been avoided if they would have said they were going to hold my money when I called them. Instead they told me everything was okay for me to process the order. I would have not sent out the products and I would have refunded the customer their money.
Shopify has the worse service in the world. I tried to open a store and they told me you got a free trial. After realizing that it was too hard to actually open the store, I tried to close my account. For three months they continued to take money out of my bank account. The last time, they promised that they had closed it but still took out the $29 per month. Now I am $90 out with no store. They have no traffic and their fees are horrendous. Do not open a store with these people. It is almost impossible to post a negative comment as they have such strong online presence.
Ordered item. Received confirmation of order. Took money for order. Many days later Shipping label created. Sent tracking number. Item never shipped. Didnt return emails. No phone number. Only way to contact with email and they don't return. BBB rating a big fat F.
I bought a romper from http://shoplyfie.com, as soon as I orderd I received an automatic email stating they will let me know when it's shipped and thanking me for my order. Order never came, shipping email never came, no emails were ever answered. Cannot belive this. What crooks.

I guess the old folks were correct when they said "a bought lesson is the best lesson". I'll just make sure no one I KNOW will purchase from simplyfabo....they are absolutely NOT FABO!
I signed up for a trial. After the trial was over, about a week or two later I went to log in and my account was frozen due to non-payment. It so happens that the credit card I had on file was comprimsed and I had to wait to get a new card. So, I paid my bill on September 25th, in the amount stated on the account frozen page with another credit card. I sent an email to support letting them know I had paid that amount and that I wanted my subscription cancelled.
I received and email repsonse from the company on the 25th of September saying my account was still frozen because I still owed money and that I could go to my admin panel to check my invoices or cancel my account. If your account is frozen there is no way for you to access your admin panel. Also, if I had owed more money the full amount owed should have been shown on the frozen warning page.
They are trying to claim that the amount I paid is to cover August payment (trial ended on the 7th of August) and that I have not paid the September payment with covers through October 24th.
