Long story short, in 2013 significant damage was caused to our historic home when we hired Shield Restoration to replace our roof. After the damage occurred (approximately 2 days after the job started) Mr. Sizemore refused to take reaponsibility, pointing the finger at subcontractors he had hired. Our only contract was with Mr. Sizemore and Shield Restoration and we gave him 24 hours to file the claim with his insurance. He refused, so in order to protect our home and begin clean up, we were forced to place a claim with our Homeowner policy (totaling almost $20,000). We fired Mr. Sizemore and requested the return of our deposit (minus what he had apent on materials). This totaled $8,500. To this day we have not seen a penny. Fortunately, I just recieved a letter from our insurance stating they were successful in obtaining a judgement against Shield Restoration for our loss in 2013. It took our insurance company took years, but we won and Mr. Sizemore is being held responsible. Unfortunately though, this will not recoup our deposit which he walked away with - again, $8,500 after materials. There are several negative reviews against this company on the BBB, Yelp and now Rip Off Report. i have reported him, and continue to follow up with the Attorney General of Ohio. I have emailed the Attorney General a copy of my judgement. This company continues to operate in the same manner as I was found by another victim who was just taken by Shield Restoration last month. I am encouraging every victim to please contact the Attorney General. They need to hear from you if we have any chance of stopping this unlawful behavior. I would be interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. The other victim and I are trying to locate people, like ourselves, who were scammed by this company. As for my judgement, it is probably a public record so please feel free to verify my claim. The judgement date is again is October 12, 2015 and was obtained by State Farm against Shield Restoration.
