Sleezy Con, Shelly (Rochelle) Bailes -Garcia-Burgos,? made contacted via an online website expressing interest in purchasing several items. She wanted to buy a few Faux Fur Bedspreads and Bedroom Accessories. She arranged for samples to be sent to her and insisted on mailing payment rather than paying through the normal internet channels.
In every coversation via email, text and phone she expressed an urgency to receive her products. She did mail two checks each just under $950. NOTE: Checks over $950 qualify as a felony in California.
We deposited the first check and after a week received a second one in the mail from her. The bank lead us to believe the first check had cleared so we shipped BOTH products to her. She was on the phone and texting every day pushing us to ship BOTH of her orders as fast as we could for some supposed event she was having that weekend. (adding the promise that if she really liked the products she would be ordring several more)
As soon as she found out we had shipped them, she STOPPED PAYMENT on BOTH checks. Of course we didnt find out until it was too late. She first lied saying her husband did it because he thought the checks were lost. Then a few days later she told a completely different story saying the BANK had stopped payment on the checks because SHE WAS A VICTIM of hacking to her Paypal account.
After literally hundreds of sickening - lying text messages from this selfish and deceitful woman, from which we were able to glean a wealth of useful information for our case, we followed our atorneys instructions and sent her a formal demand letter. Of course she ignored it.
We have also filed claims with the appropriate police depardments check fraud division and begun preparing a court action. The investigation will continue and hopefully this will end with to Shelly Bails crime spree , total restitution and some well deserved jail time.
