I can't help but be baffled by how quickly Sharon Elementary School is apt to punish students without getting the whole, genuine story. My husband received a call from Kristofer Warner that my daughter was in the office and that she was being suspended from the school bus for three days. I followed up with a phone call since this suspension was not based on accurate events. Not only was Mr. Warner very rude and argumentative in his phone call, but how he spoke to me as a parent was very unprofessional. I could tell in the phone call that he's one of that men that feels superior to women and likes to talk over them whereas he didn't try that with my husband. This is a misogynistic trait that he needs to work on, especially when working for the school corporation. He shouldn't be working around children with this kind of behavior. You would think he is the principal the way he acts. I tried to explain to Kris Warner that the woman that called the school earlier concerning my daughter and her friend has been causing issues with them for about a month now. She recently told my daughter's friend that she was going to hurt her and call the police. This woman obviously has mental health issues and doesn't like children. Mr. Warner didn't want to take the time to listen and wanted to talk over me instead. Not only these statements from this woman were false, but my husband takes our daughter to the bus stop every morning. Never once this woman has made a comment to my husband about my daughter standing at the bus stop. She rather pick on children when no one else is around and make up false statements to the school - just to prove a point. She told numerous lies. Some of these lies were that my daughter called her derogatory remarks and that she played with a water sprinkler. Then, my daughter gets punished by the school without proof (i.e. security camera footage). My daughter said that he told her because this was the first time that the lady called that she must be telling the truth. In that case, he wouldn't make a very good detective. This shows me that anyone can call the school and fabricate a story without anyone investigating. That isn't fair at all for the student(s). My daughter stands where she is supposed to stand. Since there are no sidewalks in that area, my daughter has to stand on the grass near the road. It sounds like the school corporation needs to come up with a better solution for the bus stop location instead of punishing kids. I don't think kids should be suspended from riding the bus based on a statement that wasn't investigated. Nor should one threaten a child to involve the police based on such uninvestigated fabrications. I work at home and I have never witnessed such fabrications. Otherwise, I would give my daughter a lecture. Also, my mom takes my youngest son to school and picks him up. She has never witnessed my daughter or her friend doing anything of this nature either. It seems like Sharon Elementary has gone down drastically since my oldest was a student there. I don't feel comfortable having my daughter in a toxic school environment if this isn't going to be addressed. My daughter has been through enough, especially having to deal with a bully across the street.
