Horrible service! Almost two weeks without AC due to their bad service! My AC broke two Saturdays ago. They stated they would send someone on Thursday from 8am, - 12pm and they showed up after 4:30pm. That is 5 days without AC, so we had to rent a hotel for those days. On Friday, the next day after someone 'fixed our AC', the AC was not cooling at all again. We called them and they did not send anyone over until Tuesday. They told us they would give us a 30 mins heads up call and of course no one was in the house (98 degrees inside tempt / around 100 - 110 degrees outside - end of August). Because we didn't get there until 40 mins after they called due to traffic and what not, they left and did not return my 4 calls that day, both office and cell. It is now Thursday again and they were going to send someone from 8am - 12pm and no one has showed up and it is now close to 1pm. We have been waiting inside the house since 745am this morning, and it is 96 degrees inside, to make sure we are home when someone arrives.
Our experience with Shaffer & Sons duplicates what we have read on this website from many others. Our Home Warranty, First American, sent Shaffer & Sons out when we called in July 2015 to report a problem with th AC unit... A new relay switch was installed after several phone calls. However, we were informed that a new compressor had to be ordered by First American and we would be contacted for the install date. After numerous phone calls to Shaffer & Sons we were told that the compressor arrived on Wednesday, August 12th and the installation would be the next day. However, no phone call once again. We called and Amy informed us that the technician could not find our house and he actually wasn't certified to do the work. She was to call us back with another time and a certified technician and, once again that did not occur on August 14th, August 17th or August 18th. After numerous phone calls to Shaffer & Sons on August 18th with no return phone calls Amy said they did not have a qualified technician and she would have to call the First American to get this completed by another company . We contacted First American and reported the problem. Amy, from Shaffer & Sons did not call. This company should not be in business!
