I lived in Shadow Oaks 1999-2000. At the end of my lease term I left, got my security deposit back and paid up all monies owed at the time to the Manager.
I recently put in an application for a house rental in another State, come to find out when they ran my credit, etc., that in 2014 Shadow Oaks filed a lawsuit against me for an EVICTION, yes, you read that right EVICTION notice. I was NOT evicted. I have never been evicted in my life. They are trying to extort almost $1,000.00 from me.
So, in summary:
1. I was NOT evicted
2. I was NOT OR EVER HAVE BEEN notifed EVER by Shadow Oaks apartments that they were pursuing a lawsuit against me
3. It is out of Statute of Limitations by 12-14 years
4. I now have to pay for an attorney to get this sorted out
5. It has destroyed my good name and rental record
The Attorney General of Texas needs to investigate this company. It should be closed down for it's shady practices...
