Shades of Color, LLC Reviews
I am writing on behalf of my company in regards to business Shades of Color located in Chicago, Il. and the absolute HEADACHE and UNPROFESSIONALISM that we experienced.
This company is a DISGRACE. They INSTALLED the WRONG CHOICES, asked for MORE MONEY to REPLACE & INSTALL the RIGHT choices, PROMISED us a refund and we still have yet to recieve it.
On 03/16/2016, Shades of Color submitted a proposal to do a top to bottom remodel for a 2-bedroom condo. We accepted the proposal from Shades of Color and Shades of Color started the work on April 4th, 2016. Everything was on track, so we thought. About midway through the project, we noticed problems and had concerns. One MAJOR problem being lack of communication in regards to the project as well as the issues that arise with our tile, granite and overall choices. The owner of the unit decided to pay a visit one day to checkup on the project and noticed problems with the cabinets that were partially installed and the kitchen tile. Specifically, they were the WRONG colors and NOT what we picked out.
The unit owner IMMEDIATELY sent photos and voiced his concerned to Shades of Color. Shades of Color apologized and we were assured that it will be fixed. The next day (April 25th, 2016), a Shades of Color representative contacted the owner to ask for MORE MONEY to complete the project and then stated the project WILL NOT be done on time.
Shades of Color was aware that there were tenants moving into this unit on May 1st and the unit needed to be completed by then. Again, this DID NOT happen. The owner FIRED Shades of Color on April 27th, 2016. Based on work done and work not done, a refund check was given to the owner by Shades of Color on Thursday, May 5th to cover the incomplete work and to cover the cabinets. It is now May 18th and the owner still DOES NOT have the refund that was promised to them from Shades of Color.
Due to their incompetence, new contractors were hired, the project was pushed back an additional month, our tenants are living in a hotel with their belongings in storage with no sign of Shades of Color trying to rectify the situation.
Not too mention, this brought the owner WAY OVER BUDGET.
I highly recommend you veer away from this company and their services.
