I purchased a home warranty from ServicePlan of Florida, Inc. in 2006 to cover the house I had just purchased. 6 years later, I moved from this house -- but still own it.
When the warranty came up for renewal, it was forwarded to my new address by the Post Office & paid it and advised the company of my new address. The next year, it was sent to my new address and I paid. After that, I did not get a bill & had to call & they sent the new bill to the correct address.
This past year, I remembered that I had not received a bill and I called them. The customer service person was not very friendly and not helpful. She informed me that they never send bills to any address other than the property that the warranty covers. I told her I knew that was not true because of my past few years history. She was adament so I asked to speak to a supervisor. I held for about an hour & was never directed to a supervisor. I think she did not like me questioning her.
My thoughts are that they knew I had owned the house for about 8 years and they did not want to honor the warranty any longer. Anyway, now I am stuck with no warranty when I probably need it the most!!!
