It's very simple. This man is unprofessional and doesn't pay his workers properly. He also doesn't deliver merchandise to his customers properly and it has been many years of tryng to deal with this guy and get things done right. His work is famous, but he is not. Probably because of how he deals with people.
He claims his merchandise is ceramic. That is a lie. It is PLASTER. He claims it is made in America. Yes...SOUTH AMERICA (Guatamala). And, he so often doesn't deliver properly to his customers, that they have called, emailed and even shown up in person threatening lawsuits and all sorts of retaliation. I have been trying to collect my own payment from him for working in his work-studio (which is the living room to his Queens, NY studio apartment).
I spent two-weeks working on a set of life-sized paper-machet resin coated 'dummies' for Ray Catina Motor Car Corporation, NJ. It was exciting. I was personally with Mr. Catina and Mr. Furnari in Mr. Catina's private office and solidified the sale and completed the deal on Mr. Furnari's behalf. I was responsible for collecting a 50% deposit for doing this job. Mr. Catina was warm, fun, professional, and happy to comply, and he had a check cut for Mr. Furnari right then an there.
Furnari then never paid me a dime. He has refused to respond to any of my written communications and after he's been so brash and rude to myself (and so many people which goes far beyond this complaint and me), I have decided to once and for all let the world know what a lying cheating irresponsible unprofessional this man is. He has had every chance to pay me and the others he owes. And he has plenty of money to pay us with. I know this, because I have made about a MILLION Dollars in sales for him over the 15 years I've sold his products. Sergio, it should never have come to this. You should have simply paid me.
