The owner advertised on a website called Conversion Trader, stating that he had a new 2021 Sprinter for $0, once you open the ad, it states you can't get it unless you get a build. I wrote to him and suggested he change his ad for price instead to TBD or Open, as most people who want to get a good build, will just skip over his ad thinking it some kind of scam and that he might put his fee (as hourly wage) and cost of materials instead so people can have some idea of what a build would cost and that though it's unlikely (and they would probably lose) but possible that someone might sue him for a bait and switch ad or false advertising. I told him to be honest and transparent, have been looking for a long time and am getting tired of click bait ads.
Instead of either just ignoring it or saying something like "I think most people will know what it means, thanks anyway" he wrote me a extremely profane and vulgar reply "What the f**k are you talking about!!! The van is posted for a custom build so that I cannot put a price tag on it because I don’t know what the f**k the customer wants. Most common sense people will contact me and I’ll be upfront with them instead of writing a stupid a*s email to me. Dumb b***h!
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the build, do you want to deal with someone like that? Better to deal with a professional company that operates out of a street address than someone working out of his home with only a PO Box. If you are unhappy with your build, you have no recourse.
