SellMyCarMiami.com Reviews

  • Feb 12, 2020

I found SellMyCarMiami.com on Google. They were said to purchase used cars for cash. I tried to sell this company my Toyota. It had a Kelly Blue Book value of $24,000.00. I was low-balled an offer of $19,000.00. I asked if they were a dealer and they told me, yes they were. I called the local Division of Motorist Services and they said there was no such dealership listed as SellMyCarMiami in their system. Something funny was going on here. After what I found out below, I realized I may have gotten off very lucky and did not get any money stolen.

Myself being a part time journalist started to do a little research. It was amazing what I found. SellMyCarMiami.com was actually operating as a car dealership that was called NTL Used Cars Trader Corp. That dealership is no longer in business due to fraud. This dealership was set up under an elderly woman named Raquel Carhauz. There were so many questions answered when I found the public Broward County Court Case #CACE17008298 against Robert Soto, Paola Soto, Raquel Carhuaz and NTL Used Car Trader Corp.

It appears to be that both Robert Soto & Paolo Soto of Pembroke Pines are the true owners of NTL Used Cars Trader Corp which operates as SellMyCarMiami.com. Paolo or Robert Soto’s relative I would have to assume is Raquel Carhuaz, the woman who set up a fraudulent dealership in her name. Her address was listed as the same address as Paolo and Robert in the public records. I will assume it was set up this way because they Robert & Paoloa Soto could not qualify on their own to get licensed. The court case is very interesting.

Robert & Paola Soto borrowed $100,000.00 from someone to fund their auto business venture. There was fraud being committed and the venture was terminated. Robert & Paolo Soto were obligated to then sell any cars that were in inventory purchased with the $100,000.00 loan and return the investment. Robert & Paolo Soto stole the money, kept the cars, never returning a penny to the investor. A court case was then filed.

If you read through the documentation online you will see that the Soto’s and Carhauz delayed the cases for quite some time. They all took the 5th when being questioned in the case (standard for common criminals to not prove their guilt). The last day before they had to move forward with the civil case, they all filed for bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy records Case #17-20666-RBR show that both Robert & Paolo Soto lost the bankruptcy case. The $100,000.00 loan they were trying to get put in the bankruptcy was removed from the bankruptcy for the fraud that was committed by the Soto’s. The case was then brought back to civil court. Here the judge filed the judgment, proving that Robert & Paolo Soto did in fact steal the $100,000.00 from the investor of their business. Why didn’t they go to jail?

The DMV could not help me answer my questions. The address listed on SellMyCarMiami.com’s website is a virtual address, why? The phone number on SellMyCarMiami.com calls Robert Soto who will answer the calls. He is not a registered car dealer, why?

Court records show that it cost the investor $28,903.00 in attorney’s fees to win the case. If they have done this to other people, how could anyone afford to come after them, they couldn’t. We just want to warn anyone dealing with this group to stay far away. The proof is in the court records, look for yourself. Robert & Paola Soto are unethical people who may very well steal your money or your cars.
