Upon entering into the facility, we spoke witha very nice salesperson by the name of AJ, who was asked if they dealt with a specific credit union that we already knew that we could get approved for, he stated that they did and proceeded to check out a vehicle. Before the application process began, we asked him again, to only submit it to that one bank and he stated that the fianancial manager would be ther person to tell, he was only starting the application. We had no problem with that. Once she came over, we greeted Mercede (Mercy) as we worked with her at a previous dealership and felt a bit more at ease because we thought she was trustworthy. At that time, she began asking questions as all dealerships would and we answered, and she was honest about the chances of being approved for the particular car that we were looking at. She then attempted to find another car that was within the price range that we were looking for. At that time she stated that she had a friend that she could speak to regarding assisting us with the loan, but that wasn't going to help us due to no vehicles being available that we wanted to purchase wihtin that range. At that time we began to speak about financing. I personally made sure that she was aware that we only wanted it to go through one bank and that was it. She stated, "If you were anyone else, I would just send it through to everyone to see who offers the best deal, but since I know ya'll, I'll submit it to one bank and if it is not approved then we can try your bank". I made sure that she understood, AGAIN that we did not want our credit file to be pulled with multiple lenders and if they could not send to that lender, to not attempt with anyone else except the first authorized creditor which was WellsFargo. I currently have a Fraud Alert on my account due a similar thing that happened last year, so WellsFargo called me to verify my information and I was okay with that. We were approved for that loan at a rate that was disclosed to me. However, when attempting to fax over documents that Mercy requested the following day, I could not get a hold of her or the salesperson. This continued for two days until i visited the location. When I arrived, there was already a bit of hesistation to continue business here due to the lack of communication, but when arriving there was another worker there that had told us that we were approved with two different banks. the first issue that was addressed was that it should have not been any other bank that it was submitted to, and he attempted to explain the concept, but it was told to him what we verbalized with Mercy and her agreeance. He showed no regard for what was discussed. I then asked him the interest rate that WellsFargo had told him and there was an inflation to the interest rate from what WellsFargo disclosed to me. The dealership that was "approved" was called Flagship and was even higher. We previously were approved at the Credit Union that we were requesting with a 7% interest rate, and told mercy this but she thought that she could get a better rate from WellsFargo, that is why we agreed to do so. At that time my Fianacee', very angry left the office because he knew what they were doing, and I attempted to go around to get answers that I knew that they would not truthfully disclose at this point. I believe that he caught on to what I was doing and told me that he knew the CEO or VP (some high person) at the Credit Union that we were requesting and could fax them over the buyers order for the vehicle that we were requesting. The question is, that was the case and Mercy "told you about us" why did you not submit it there first instead of attempting to make an extra buck by increasing the interest rate. There were a total of 6 inquires on our credit file that were NOT authorized and I have began to make measures regarding this. When contacting the office today, of course Mercy, again was not available and I was told that there is nothing that they can assist with. The disregard for our requests, and attempt to collect more profit in unethical and should not be allowed to deal with consumers. I am aware that there are fines that are associated with this type of behavior and if it is not rectified, I will pursue leagal for myself and adjoin my Fiancee' as well.
