Sedgwick Reviews

On June 3, 2021, I had an appointment with a Shaun Keefer an insurance adjuster with Sedgwick. This Shaun Keefer was to come to my home to do a roof inspection and view the inside of my home for damage that had been done by McStay Quality Roofing. The appointment was arranged through Golden State Claim Adjusters who are out of California.

Allegedly they were using Sedgwick because they didn't have adjusters in my area. That said, at 10:00 am on 6/3/21, a man came to my home and identified himself as Shaun Keefer an adjuster with Sedgwick. I asked for a business card and this person presented me with a card that stated the same. This person came into my home and went onto my roof with me believing they were Shaun Keefer. The person that came to my home was a white male, late 20's to mid-'30s, and approximately 6'3.

I have since found out from contacting Sedgwick that Shaun Keefer who works for Sedgwick is a w/m, mid 30 and approximately 5'7. THIS WAS AN ACT OF INSURANCE FRAUD. This person submitted a report to Golden State Claim Adjusters as though he was Shaun Keefer. Sedgwick's management has been complicit in trying to cover up the lie. They refuse to provide an image of the real Shaun Keefer citing privacy issues. However, if the real Shaun Keefer came to my home how is it a privacy issue to provide a picture ID.

My workers comp claim examiner has not responded to ONE message I have sent. The claim was closed 1/18/2021 without notification and with a medical payment due (as of today 2/3/2022) that the examiner has been aware of since 12/14/21.

I have sent 4 message directly through my claim account, 6 emails directly to examiner, 1 email to general box, 2 voice message to examiner, and 2 voice messages to the general mailbox - all with NO response. Phone number provided to call if you have questions on a claim is a wrong number. If your company uses Sedgwick, good luck if you have a workers comp claim!

Sedgwick CMS is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Their whole corporate mind set and hence their strategy and playbook is to make things as miserable and tedious as possible, hoping that the claimant will make some fatal slip – not return required paperwork - or become so alienated they will just give up. They require you to do their work. You are to go to the surgeon’s office to force them to fill out what ever additional forms Sedgwick wishes to bombard the with, you are to beg and cajole and somehow convince them this form which they have filled out three times before must be filled out once again and immediately faxed. You are required to run all over town (frequently out of town) coordinating maybe five different medical practices. You are required to pick up reports, slides, MRIs, specimens, radiologist reports (I’m sure you get the idea). All of this is accomplished by threats of denial of your claim. I had my short term claim denied at least three times. Since I’m not rich and living pay check to pay check, this threat is similar to denying dialysis to a kidney patient.

Finally when my short term claim was to transition to long term Sedgwick struck. Sedgwick denied my claim – Sedgwick wins – another claimed denied. How? Sedgwick based their decision on an opinion from a doctor who never contacted my surgeon, ignored the original written restrictions, ignored the MRIs, ignored the x-rays, ignored my follow up appointments and based her opinion on an unrelated appointment with a nurse practitioner, in order to get a scrip for Mobic.

Similar to having a heart attack then basing your medical diagnosis on your last appointment with your dental hygienist.
