Secure Home Warranty Reviews

I paid upfront for 5 years +12 months of warranty for $1600 on 6/7/16. My garage door will not open so I called tonight to put a claim in for someone to come out and my calls gets cut off. I went online to put a claim in and I learned that they are no longer in business. I should have had 6 years of warranty but only got to use 2 years.

No longer in bussiness.

The one claim that they handled took two months to get a service tech on site as they do not pay their service companies. The claim took forever to report as they do not answer their phones. The claim that they owe me for was for 225 dollars on a stove replacement that cost me 2200.00 dollars. They never sent the 225 and now I cannot contact them. I have tried daily for two months. My attempts to contact them have resulted in unfulfilled promises, then voicemail, then dropped phone calls, then disconnected service.

Upon contacting Secure Home they failed to provide a technician, I had to have my own technician out to evaluate unit. They never sent a conformation email of the claim nor did they send anyone out. On Friday July 7, 2017 our ac went out, I called for 4 days before getting a person on the phone (when I purchased the warranty it stated 24hr customer service). After finally being able to report the issue I was told that it could take up to 48hrs to receive a call but would receive an email conformation within a few hours. I never received either. I called a friend/technician (he is licensed) over to evaluate the issue and was told that the compressor and blower motor were no longer working. On Friday July 14, 2017 after waiting a week for the company to send someone out to fix the problem and placing numerous calls to the company we called Sunstate to have our unit replaced with a new unit as it only made sense to replace instead of replace parts when it would be similar in cost. I then called that following week to state that we had replaced the unit since we were not contacted. I was told that since I had someone look at the unit, they canceled the order. I specifically requested that it not be canceled because I was told that I needed a receipt showing that someone had come out and I didn't have that considering it was a friend that came out after hours and I wasn't charged. At that point I was told to email the receipt to the claims department, that was done and at this point we still have not heard anything.

After not having ac for one week, we called a company to have unit replaced. When I called the following week to advise that we replaced the unit I was told that the claim was canceled because I had technician come out to access the issue. At no point did I ask that they cancel the claim

Secure Home Warranty is such a scam. My first claim with them about 6 months ago for fixing my built in microwave was denied. Now I am going on week 2 with no refridgerator. I called them when my 2 year old Kenmore refridgerator broke and they said they couldn't get anyone out for about a week because they're so busy. Then they emailed us and told us to find our own repair guy and they'll reimburse us. We got a technician out and our refridgerator was diagnosed to have a failed compressor and it would cost about $1,200 to replace the part. I called Secure Home Warranty and they told me to send in the invoice and it would be sent to their review department.

I have called everyday and emailed for over a week now to find out the status. No returned emails and when you call after waiting for over 40 minutes to reach someone they give you the total run around. We have probably made about 30+ calls and sent about 30 emails and get nothing. If you can reach someone on the phone they promise that someone will get back to us but no one does or has! This company is a total scam and I see now after reading reviews on this so called company they don't pay any claims from their customers. Someone needs to shut this company down. They take your premiums and in return you get no service from them. You call and you can not get answers from anyone. They flat our tell you lies. Beware! I wish I would have stayed with Old Republic! At least they had great service and got things done quickly! Secure Home Warranty is truly just a scam company!

This company seems to be a fraud one. They promise all sort of things but never revert back when we ask for any warranty service. I have paid them $669 for warranty starting June 21, 2016 to Sep 21, 2017. I had couple of issues... one with Swimming Pool Heater and Leaking. This issue came up last year and then told some company will come and fix it but that didn't happened. we closed the pool during winter and again this year submitted a claim about a month back (claim# 17783). Since then they are telling me that they have assigned someone to come and fix it but none have come yet. I have called them multiple times and everytime they are telling we will try today otherwise we will assign someone else. The 2nd claim came up recently ( claim# 18089). Out AC stopped working. They did the same thing and finally told me if I can get someone to fix . They will reimburse it. With this hot summer we are without the ac for more than a week. I called one person. He has done our AC servicing since 2013. He looked at the issue and submitted the diagnosis of about $1700 to fix the ac. I am calling them to approve the fix so that the company I called can fix it. For last 3 days either they are saying they haven't got the estimates or will check with someone as they are getting hundreds everyday... The most important thing is sometime back for about 4 months they never pickup any phone... anytime we call it will go directly for voicemail and they will ask to send email to [email protected] and never responded. They told the fee is refundable... when I came to know about their poor service I asked them to refund the monry in October last year but they never responded after that till May. Now that I have the claims they are playing tricks.

The company appears to be out of business! I tried calling there 800# ;listed on their website: (888) 825-2621 and no matter what number I dial for ext is says the ext is no longer valid.

I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute hopefully I will be able to get my money back. I am wondering if we can file a class action lawsuit or something. This is WRONG!!! We pay for warranty service and we get NO service. Some people have paid for multiple years! WOW!!!!

There is got to be some recourse for this madness!!! No company should be able to take money and disappear in thin air!

I just contacted an attorney today and they are assisting me in figuring out if they can help with compensation from Secure Home Warranty via a potential Class Action Lawsuit. I have not heard back from them yet it's been a few days. So I am still open for help! This is the first time anything things like this has happened to me. I am so upset. If anyone wants to join in on this action to get their money back or have been ripped off by Secure Home Warranty please contact me.

I was also informed by the City of Philadelphia PA business licensing department that no such company was licensed to do business in that City and State! So it appears to be a fake business setup to get people to pay premiums and to use those premiums to pay claims! Wow and the plot is thickening. This is sooo sad!

They simply took $630 of my money to offer home appliance repair insurance for 15 months. But they closed their doors. They are out of business and cannot offer anytiing. Why is their website still there? Won't answer the phone other than a recording. I am out my money with no recourse.

I contracted for warranty services after reading the reviews. The first time I filed a claim was when my kitchen sink got clogged, the answering service was very courteous and professional and told me that the company representative will be calling me within 24 hours. I waited one week without any calls. Called back the answering service and they say a representative will call me back withing 24 hours, waited another week and still nobody called. I had to take care of the drain myself. After a month, the drain for my washing machine backed up, called in a claim, answering service again says someone from the company will be in touch within 24 hours, this is after I recounted my past experience with them. Again its been a week and nobody has called back, tried calling the answering service and even that doesn't work anymore. I'm just getting a recording. This company is a scam.

On May 5th 2016 I contacted Secure Home Warranty to inquire about a home warranty on a home I was considering buying.

I had a home inspection done that showed no issues except an old a/c unit which would not be covered by their warranty anyway.

I told them upfront that the house had no records, it was a previous foreclosure, and that I was buying the warranty before closing on the house.

I was told by the sales agent that this would not be a problem.

The policy was purchased more than 30 days before the house closing.

The warranty became effective on closing.

After 46 days I filed a claim for a main a/c problem.

Repairs are estimated at $1600.

Upon contacting Secure Home they failed to provide a technician within contract guidelines, I had to hire my own technician to evaluate unit.

THEN, they denied the claim stating there were no maintenance records and I should have canceled the policy within 30 days even though I did not even own the home at the experation of the thirty days.

Then, they offered me $150 toward repair. I stated my intention to file a formal complaint.

Then, they called me back and stated they would return my $400 purchase price for the warranty. A savings for their company of over $1200. If they had honored their contract they would have had to pay for the repair at $1600.

I belive I was defrauded blatanly.
