On 11-24-19 I purchased 4 tickets to a Beach Boys concert at Winstar Event Center, concert was to be held 5-1-2020, because of covid the concert was postponed until 10-17-2020 then it was moved to 11-21-2020 then it was postponed indefinently so I requested a refund.
In a e-mail back from Catrina P a Customer Service Rep for Secure Box Office it was stated " they can't issue a refund because the concert had not been cancelled, but rest assured if the concert is cancelled and there is no rescheduled date they would issue a full refund".
On 5-26-21 the concert was cancelled, I sent a e-mail requesting my refund and was told via e-mail that they were no longer issuing refunds only store credit for purchasing tickets. They have already been sued by the AG for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania case # 20110187 and were ordered to refund customers.
I would run from this company as fast as you can if you are directed to use them in a purchase.
Secure Box Office Refund was not received for cancelled Hamilton Show on March 14th at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Maimi. Their written guarantee provides for a full refund for cancelled shows. Instead of a cash refund they responded with a Coupon toward future shows. This is totally unaccpetable and violates their Guarantee. The tickets were over $2500. They in affect have confiscated the money and fraudulently induced me to purchase these tickets by violating their own policy.
We do not care that their excuse is Covid-19. They are re-sellers and they know who they purchased the tickets from. Their keeping the spread (money received above their cost of the tickets) is theft. In a call to their office they are blaming Covid-19 for not refunding the monies and have said that they cannot determine who they purchased the tickets from, therefore, they cannot offer a refund. This a a fraudulent statement, since they must have on file a record of who or whom they purchased their tickets to re-sell to the public. Or in the alternative, they should have business interruption insurance to cover their costs.
Regardless, if they do not know who they purchased tickets from, in the event they needed to refund a ticket cost to a consumer for an event that is cancelled, how could they offer a written guarantee, which is posted on their website. We will only accept a cash refund or a credit to my charge card for the cost of the tickets. We would appreciate any help that you can give.
Liars and Dishonest - Secure Box Office Refund Policies – Dishonest and crooked
I purchased two tickets to a Brad Paisley concert for $473.00. We are excited to see him and are willing to pay this amount for the event. But now the concert was cancelled.
We have been communicating with the Customer Service people at Secure Box Office for a number of weeks. We have been getting a royal runaround. They first said they couldn’t find our order we kept providing additional documents to confirm our purchase. Each email they kept saying we didn’t purchase tickets. Now have a finally provided them with screenshots of our email address ordered from our invoice and bank charge. Now after weeks of email communication runaround they are saying they can’t do refunds and they can only do in store credits. Well sorry we don’t need almost $500.00 or t-shirts.
NEVER purchase tickets from this ticket company they are crooks, they are making millions of dollars by not refunding tickets. This is ridicules. From my simple calculations they are keeping over $2,500,000 of fans money. They are in the wrong! Please support me in pushing them to do refunds!
High pressure sales tactics are used to 'rush' you to purchase tickets online. The 'official' looking website looks to be an official place to buy legitimate tickets online for whatever show you are looking to purchase. They may sell you a real ticket, but the actual cost of that ticket is many time more than double the true cost.
They use deceitful marketing to urge and rush you to buy because 'time is running out' and 'tickets are selling fast'. While on the site, you have absolutely no idea that they are a 3rd party. It looks so official and they seem to have accurate information about the ticket availability down to the seating that it appears to be official.
I paid almost $500 for two tickets to see Hamilton in Miami. I was not really too happy with the seating, as it was the 4th tier, but they were supposedly the 'cheapest' prices available and they were selling fast. After I received the tickets, I realized they came from Chicago.
Which made no sense, since, the venue is in Miami. So, I called the venue on the ticket. The Adrienne Arsht Center explained that the tickets I have were only $99 and purchased by someone else.... Only at that moment did I realize I was scammed. The venue explained to me that they would notate the person who actually purchased the tickets and mark them as an unauthorized vendor because the person who actually paid for the tickets from the venue was not authorized to resell them.
Furthermore, the center suggested I immediately do a chargeback on my credit card, as we were clearly being taken advantage of, which I did. However, my bank explained that the moment I paid for them, I agreed to the 'terms of service', which no one really reads... and the Secure Box Office terms say no refunds whatsoever. However, I could not in good conscience actually use these tickets, then I would certainly forgoe any claim.
I did call Secure Box Office and asked for a refund, though... I asked them why they thought it was ok to charge more more than double for tickets I could have purchased directly for $99. They had several 'canned' responses... and I just asked them to refund me and they said no. I asked for a refund by email and this is what they said:
"We cannot provide a refund for your order as the tickets have already been provided by the seller. As our Sales Terms and Conditions state and were agreed to before being able to purchase through us, all sales are final. As a resale marketplace, we list tickets that come from a vast network of sellers, all of whom own or manage their own ticket inventory. Sellers are automatically notified when an order for their tickets is placed, and must confirm the order to finalize the purchase. Once this happens, you are backed by our Guarantee and the seller is guaranteed payment in exchange for fulfilling your order. Sellers do not allow cancellations and are not obligated to offer any refunds, discounts, or exchanges, so we are unable to extend those to our customers.
Since sellers own the tickets that are listed on our site, they are able to set their own prices for the tickets being sold. We provide disclaimers on our site as well as in our terms that tickets on our site may be priced higher or lower than the face value of the tickets. We strive to remain transparent on this which is why the information is provided while tickets are being browsed through.
We understand this may not be the result you were wishing for. However, we do want to inform you that just because you cannot refund the tickets, does not mean you do not have options. Because the tickets are yours, you are free to do with them as you wish. This can also include reselling them yourself. Many customers find that they are able to recoup the costs of their tickets by placing them on sale via various websites, social media, or privately among friends and family. The best part of being able to resell your tickets is that you can set your own prices! It is important to keep in mind to keep your price competitive so that you have a better chance of selling them.
A great resource to find out more about reselling is to plug in terms like "fan ticket selling", or "fan resell market" on search engines. We recommend researching various sites, making sure to pay close attention to their policies regarding reselling tickets. Once you find one that you are comfortable with, please contact them right away in order to begin the reselling process. The more time between your listing and the event, the better the odds that you will be able to sell the tickets.
"Really? They said that I could resell the tickets myself? This is just another scam to part consumers from their money. Why would I knowingly pay more than double for a ticket I can buy direct? I decided I would not consume the tickets they gave me and buy 2 more tickets, but from the actual vendor directly. I got 10 times better seats for less money.
The reality is more likely they purchased this ticket for themselves to sell. I bought them on a Friday and it was overnighted to me and received on Monday... sent from Chicago. So, someone had to have already purchased them in Miami, then sent them to Chicago for them to send them back down to Miami?
This site scams people and others can contact me so we can organize. We need several of us to get together in order to have them stopped and sue them.
I wanted to get tickets for my parents so I thought I was ordering from the box office when in fact once they showed me the total price, I realized it cost way more than what I expected and wasn't the box office. It clearly stated that your tickets aren't confirmed yet, so I called the company to tell them I don't want the tickets and after keeping me on hold they said they are now confirmed and there is nothing I can do about it.
Then they said I can resell them but I won't get my tickets until 2 days before the show. How can I sell tickets if I don't have them until several months from now. I really feel like they were deceitful since I wanted to get them directly from the venue for half the price and half the fees. I expect them to reimburse me for these tickets since they were deceitful.
Additionally, you will see there is a timer in the upper right corner that asked me to confirm which I didn't.
When I looked at my emailed ticket I discovered it had a handling fee of a wooping #114 I tried to get help but they did not explain what that fee covered.
They were adamant about not refunding the ticket purchase but sugested i try to resell my tickets online. But their charge is so way over market that I doubt if I will have sucess with this, I don't know of any company that locks you in like this.
Isn't there a buyers remorse or cool off clause in California that allow you to retink your purchase and refund the ticket? They will not get away with this!
I mistakenly used secureboxoffice as the site came up as thought it was segerstrom theater. I requested two orchestra seats to see the "waitress" on November 18. I have charged a total of $367; I was sent tickets with the price of $59 each printed on them; $118 is a long way from $367.
In addition, I ordered orchestra seating; I was sent tickets for the orchestra terrace, which was changed by secureboxoffice.
I attempted several times to talk with them about these errrors and got no where. I was told I could sell the tickets if I didn't like them. I belive the secureboxoffice site should be clearly listed on line as a fraud.
