Purschased a Southern Motion recliner at Seaside Furniture in Toms River N.J and asked if we get the couch on floor. Saleslady says 'absolutley not with a big smile, we get you a brand new one delivered from the manufacture in about six weeks." (delivered approx 8 weeks later).Couch was ordered exactly as seen on floor. They fail to tell you that still makes it a "Special Order" and that there are no options to return if not satisified with product. So if you sign their contract you must take note you are stuck no matter the circumstances of the furniture. They are quick to point out when you call them you had 24 hours to cancel contract, which does'nt give you much time to decide if the product is good or not while waiting 8 weeks for delivery During that time I researched the couch and found over 200 complaints about this Southern Motion recliner. Once I received the recliner, I find that most of the complaints are absolutley correct, it is the most unconfortable couch with no support at all, causing both neck and back pain no matter how its adjusted.
I called a sales rep to see if I have any options, store exchange, restock charge any customer satisfaction at all. I was then verbally informed that all of their furniture is "Special Order" as they are not a box store, and it clearly states no returns on contract for special order. She suggested "I ask my husband nicely, to purchase me a second couch" Very professional suggestion as I begin to pay for a $1400 couch I cannot use.
Seaside Furniture should do some research on their products before selling them to customers who may be unaware of the manufactures history or poor quality . I am kicking myself for both trusting Seaside Furnitures ethics, and for not checking the internet prior to purchasing this product...I am writing this review so buyers beware that Seaside Furniture does not stand by its products so do not purchase from them without first checking the manufactures reviews and understanding their "Special Order" clause.
